I called Watkins Glen, NY, Sgt. in Charge Brandon Mathews and he refused to talk about the fact that one of his cops, Robert Brill, was a member of a couple of FB groups connected to the Proud Boys and the “Kekistani Freestate,” named for Kek.

You know what he told me?

“We don’t discuss personnel matters,” and he hung up on me. Racist Robert Brill didn’t call me back, but I only left that one restrained and very civil VM.

Maybe you guys will have better luck.

Two things. First, you don't know who's a racist and who isn't. Second, a cop's behavior is your business if it's a cop in your city. A cop's beliefs are not, and I'm not interested in opening that Pandora's box. I don't like racist cops, but I also don't like socialist cops or alcoholic cops. Should they lose their jobs? So long as they keep their socialism and booze from affecting their work, no.

There is no evidence of rampant racism in law enforcement. However, not that you care, but better education means more successful people which means lower crime, which means less need for cops and therefore fewer cops (racist or otherwise).
