Random Season News

So long as we have a spot on a lifeboat, to hell with the other passengers? I guess

but as we watch the Baylors and Techs and Owls slide under the water I will cast a real tear of regret for the great experiences. Someday all 30 of the survivors will be in the playoff and the young scholar athletes, all majors in kinesiology or sports management, will take their talents to that league that sells beer, pickups and ******** and make big bucks until their bodies get ripped up

I will keep paying for tickets in section 3 until I pass death’s door. Won’t enjoy it as much

Houston is saying that teams around the city have used these colors way before the Oilers ever did and that they have no basis for the suit. I'm not sure about UH, but I remember VY's high school Houston Madison wore these colors in their state championship game.

Vol.

Madison purposely copied the Oiler's uniforms. Doesn't matter because nobody saw Madison play, and nobody sees Third Ward play.

Well dang. I just looked it up and you're right. Madison wasn't opened until 1965. You're also right that nobody cares....quite honestly I don't even know why I bothered posting other than I'm still irritated the Oilers moved to Nashville and they hold the uniform hostage.

Vol,

I am the only guy on the board that liked Bud Adams. I had the pleasure of knowing him. He had the misfortune of hiring some less than desirable people. He owned all the Lincoln/Mercury dealerships in town, the GN sent Earl a new Mark?? when he signed; he then sent Earl a bill for it. Adams knew nothing about it. He was offered much more money and a new stadium to move to LA. He always shunned the "glamour" and "society" scene.

If the McNair's had done their jobs correctly, they wouldn't need to promote gimmickry. No amount of gimmickry promotion will fill Jeppesen Stadium or build interest in Third Ward.

No love or ties for UH here but I see an opening for them now that they are in a conference with a lot of Texas teams but no Texas or A&M. They will be likely contenders if not winners there most years. They are the only local team in a conference with nationwide coverage. They are in an area where there are a lot more superb players than there are scholarships.
If they replace Holgerson with a good ex high school coach like Tech and UTSA have done it would be a boost as well

they built a winning program once before and are situated to try it again
