I don't think so, because even a 60 yd attempt means the fair catch was made at the midfield stripe. How many NFL punters can't get a punt past midfield, no matter where they kick from?

Furthermore, if the free kick is missed the opponent takes over on the spot of the attempt. This makes the free kick attempt extremely risky except at the very end of a half.
