This is like the 3rd poll I’ve seen with the Horns with barcodes to win. Don’t get me wrong, we all want to win but the Ducks and Dawgs aren’t just going away.

I'm not now, ever have been a fan of "Herbie" anymore than I was the car he's named after. The problem with his thought is who decides which are the best teams? A bunch of people that don't see the games? Nerds that love to quote statistics? Fans sitting in a recliner watching an unwatchable TV broadcast?

Refer to the 1978 Orange Bowl, and it's circumstances being so bad that Vegas would not take a bet. Greatest coaching job in the history of college football. Unfortunately, there aren't any Lou Holtz' on the horizon.

NO TEAM BELONGS BY VIRTUE OF WINNING THEIR CONFERENCE! Take the top FOUR! Worst case make it Top 8. Herbie is right, there will be teams with 2-3 losses that are far better then undefeated or one loss teams.

Bring it closer to home, anyone that does not believe the 1968 Longhorn team wasn't the best team in the country on Jan 1, 1969, wasn't watching football.

LC,

The people making those predictions don't watch the games. I wish I had their confidence, but attending the games and watching every play, do they have some "magic potion" that keeps our defense from going to sleep for a quarter or our offense from losing its "hunger". The A&M game should have been 35-0. Clemson should have been 3-4 TD win.

I'm happy we won both, but realistic that there are teams out there that won't let us wakeup from those wonderful short naps.

On a more positive note, I was pleased to once again see the players on defense set up and make adjustments when our DC failed to get the play call in on time. That calls for great coaching.

Yeah I agree. We're talented enough, but we got stuff to cleanup. Cleaning up our 3rd quarter play will solve most of it...only 6 points in last 5 games.

Article this morning states QE a 3rd rounder in draft?
I would agree 3 or 4, except for the mental midgetry with some franchises and their previous choices. Who knows?

Bigger question is how much another year in any program would he improve his stock.
