Arnold, I make no apologies for the refs - granted they were horrible. But I'll take your comments one by one:
1. A 15-0 free throw deluge does NOT mean the refs are biased. Sometimes one team just does a lot of reaching in and also is out of position and makes mistakes. Such was the case last night.
2. At the end, the clock was reset from 1.4 to 2.0 seconds and that was simply the refs judgment as to the proper time when the ball went out of bounds after Elson's block. Reasonable minds can disagree (I did) but they try to do their best - even though, as I said above, this was a weak crew.
3. Giving the Mavs the ball at mid-court was the correct call - the clock had not started and the ball had progressed from the end line almost to midcourt. Again, a judgment call so they took 4 seconds off the game clock and 4 seconds off the shot clock and gave them the ball, properly, at midcourt where and when the ball had progressed. Them's the rules, like it or not.
