It's funny, if someone had told me before the game that the Spurs would have come out completely flat, I would not have been surprised in the least. I've watched enough Spurs basketball to know they have these type of games.

Doesn't mean a thing.

Go Spurs Go

Ho hum road win in Atlanta apparently. I missed it. Even the box score is boring.

TP 31 pts.

Orlando at home on Wednesday. The Magic are coached by Stan Van Gundy.

The Magic have started out pretty damn well. They just got Mo Evans and Brian Cook from the Lakers, but they won't play tomorrow. This should be a good game.

I was just searching the archives to see if last year's thread was still around. Alas, it is gone, so I was about to start this year's thread. Glad to see there's already one here. Look who's already atop the Western Conference standings.

Spurs beat the Magic 128-110. The big 3 went off tonight... combining for 79 points and 19 assists. Tim added 16 boards.

it almost seemed as if they were toying with the magic, letting them hang around, then decided to start playing in the 4th and go up by 20.

dwight howard...

dude is a beast!

The fast start is indicative of the experience and depth of the team. I would be concerned if they needed big minutes from the stars to get off to this record, but they are resting the big guns for the most part, and still running teams out of the gym. They also seem somewhat content to trade baskets for the first half, and then clamp down a little in the second half if needed. All in all, I like the pace they are playing with even if they do seem like they are going through the motions sometimes.

Minutes per game: Parker 34.7, Duncan 32.9, Ginobili 29.0, Bowen 29.4. If you want a comparison, MPG for the Celtics are: Pierce 38.5, Allen 39.6, and Garnett 37.8. For Dallas, Nowitzki 36.2, Howard 34.8, Harris 31.7, and Terry 31.0. For Phx, Marion 37.2, Hill 35.3, Bell 35.3, Nash 33.8, Barbosa 33.1 and Stoudemire 26.3.

Yeah, I pretty much know it's because this team has played a long time together. It still makes me nervous, those Spurs superstitions still linger a bit.
