Official Spurs 2007-08 Season Thread

A poor performance against the Knicks tonight but a win nonetheless. They looked as bad as I've seen them this season. Parker/Duncan were awful. Heads not in the game. Maybe it was the back-to-back.

Get well Manu and Brent.

Iverson....geez. Torches us again. Seems like he always goes off against SA, except for the playoff series last year.

Yeah, I thought the spurs did well to hang around and force overtime. Baron was just sick and a very tough matchup all night. Udoka got some good minutes and played well. GO SPURS GO!

A lethargic victory over the Sixers tonight. Manu hits all of his 4 FGs for the game (all 3-ptrs) in the 4th to pull away from a lousy team. Yawn. It must be January in the NBA. Looked alot like the win over the abysmal T-wolves the other night.

What's funny is I'm still not even close to panicking. This is the Spurs' MO. December into January is traditionally slow for the Spurs.

We're definitely spoiled, but I watched the game last night and it wasn't pretty. They mailed it in for about 3 1/2 quarters, and then Manu started drilling 3s and Philly didn't know what to do. They have really been playing down to the competition these last few games, and the competition has been ****** (other than Detroit, where they got beat up pretty bad): NY, Min, Philly.

I completely understand the "flipping the switch" mindset and these games in the dog days of the season are almost meaningless, but I'd feel more comfortable if they blew these crappy teams out in the first quarter and coasted instead of pulling them out in the end. I don't like Duncan having to play 36 minutes against the lousy Sixers.

Lakers gave up 22 turnovers to the Spurs last night, largely due to Manu Ginobilli coming up with 8 steals.

Excellent win. Tim was nearly unstoppable on offense and on the boards.

Damn it. Was it on in Austin? I've missed so many. Hopefully as we get into February and into the Rodeo, the spurs are starting to get on some kind of roll.

Did anyone catch the interview with Pop at the end of the 3rd quarter against the Lakers? The reporter asked something dumb like, "What made you think Manu Ginobili could come out and play the way he did in the 3rd quarter?" Pop stared at him incredulously and deadpanned, "He's Manu Ginobili," then walked away with a look of disgust.

I laughed so hard at that line from Pop. He was funny again tonight with Sager. He's gotta be the funniest coach in the league.

Tough win tonight. Legs were tired and it looks like we lost Barry again.

what's the deal with Elson, seems his minutes are way down.

why did we have to pick-up Udoka? Seems we have odd players getting minutes - i realize there were lots of injuries throughout the first half of the season, but appears everyone is healthy now. Regardless, I like what i see in Udoka.

Getting blown out like that at home by the Hornets was no way to embark on the rodeo roadtrip. Still, 3rd game in 4 nights and they aren't going to shoot 2/20 from the 3 point line very often.

This year's version of the Rodeo Road trip is brutal. Outside of Seattle and the Knicks (who have been playing better of late), and maybe the Pacers, there aren't any easy ones. I'm predicting 5-4, with people in SA getting really antsy by the time they roll into Boston. With as much hype as this trip has been getting this year with regard to galvanizing the team, they went 4-4 last year and still won the championship. To me, they didn't really start to turn it on until they played Detroit at the very end of the trip. There were some bad losses in there.

The schedule:
28 Mon at Jazz
29 Tue at Sonics
31 Thu at Suns
5 Tue at Pacers
6 Wed at Wizards
8 Fri at Knicks
10 Sun at Celtics
11 Mon at Raptors
13 Wed at Cavaliers
