Death toll in Texas elementary school; 18 children, 2 adults killed

If you think that is extreme, you walk in and try and take beers from the boys in Ector County. I’m bringing air support if it’s my task.

Sangre
I have clearly irritated you.

When you posted this earlier, "Go ahead, agree, don't agree. Speculate away. Be the best Monday morning quarterback you know how to be. It changes nothing."
I thought, of course it changes nothing but isn't that kinda what West Mall is? Monday And all the time quarter backing?
And much of the time there is little agreement
but isn't that what makes WM so great.

Sorry I seem to irritate you. But I still respect your views. Could do without the insult .

I think you’re both ignorant sluts. :)

we all agree it’s a tragedy and that we should take some action. We just don’t agree on what. I think we are doomed to more of this. Easier access to guns combined with declining access to mental health services and polarization/misinformation is sub optimal.

take care all of you. Even mb and those hateful Texans I blocked. :hookem:

When they passed the assault weapon law in ‘93 it created a wave of purchases of “assault” weapons including “high capacity” 9mm pistols and associated clips. Any passage today would also create incredible sales. And any law even remotely suggesting confiscation of guns will result in violence. Let’s harden schools first.

To your point iis
If that teacher had not propped the locked from the outside door open
how would it have ended?
There had been so many lockdowns, it was the end of the school year perhaps she felt lulled. Was it a smoke break?
Her guilt will be with her

Would have to go through the front door. Maybe the gunman gets distracted. Maybe the kids get out in time. Maybe the police would have made different decisions. I understand locking doors is federal policy. Look up why. I assume there is a reason.

I assume there was glass on that door that an AR-15 could shoot through and equalize this weak excuse deferring blame to a teacher while the cops sat outside for long enough to watch the mid season finale of better call Saul.

Both schools I go to to pick up kids have doors that lock but have glass and if I had a hammer (or an AR-15) I could get in quickly.

We are doomed.

That would at least warn students nearby. Make and difference?

Here a 13 year old buys a gun. Wholly legal.

I believe you are wholly incorrect. Legal age to purchase a long gun in the United States is 18. I believe that applies to private sales as well as those completed through an FFL dealer. The person that sold that boy the rifle broke the law and if so, should be prosecuted.
Let me ask again, and this time, if you're able, please answer directly, what law has been rescinded or what law has been passed or what exactly has occurred that has provided easier access to a gun?

I understand locking doors is federal policy.
The operative word in that sentence is policy. I've been in the life safety and security industry for 20+ years. ISDs are one of our core vertical markets. While policy recommendations abound, the final decision on security protocol and standards remains with the local district administration. Having visited hundreds of schools in my career, even at districts that have strict building envelope security standards, I can attest that you can almost always find a propped or unlocked door.
You'd think by now the faculty, staff and students would take this sh*t seriously, yet still they think "that will never happen here".

I still have the 410 shotgun given to me when I was 10 years old. I was taught absolute gun safety and my Dad - yes my Dad was heavily involved in my life - would whip my *** if I misused the gun. Laws won’t fix this problem, parenting would.

As a reader of the press, I can say you will never know what really went down in that school even afterwards.

I actually blame the press and media for the entire incident. Being a young person reading and watching the all the garbage they produce would drive anyone crazy.
Someone with mental health issues doesn't stand a chance.

Thank you for the information that under Federal law that 13 yo could NOT legally buy that 22.
It is sad people like Bubba believe misinformation.

surely you realize not all glass is the thin crap like people have in their home windows.

Schools and other buildings, to include offices, often have the mesh security glass in the narrow window slots. Sure you can get through it, but nowhere near as easily as rioters getting into a phone store....

It is on video of him buying the gun. But he was turned away for lottery tickets, cig’s, beer, etc.

Yes, clear video evidence of an existing law being broken.
One more time, what law has been rescinded or what law has been passed or what exactly has occurred that has provided easier access to a gun (your original claim)?

6721,

Don't disillusion bubba with facts. Hell, he will tell you every corner drug deal is a licensed pharmacist making himself more available to the community.
