2025 Recruiting - Softball

That seems mostly correct. I found this:

RECRUITS CAN NOW TAKE UNLIMITED OFFICIAL VISITS
Beginning July 1, 2023, recruits will no longer have a limit on the number of official visits they can make to NCAA D1 schools. Previously, recruits were only allowed to visit five D1 schools. This means D1 recruits will now have the opportunity to explore more schools before making their commitment decision.

Recruits are, however, still limited to only one official visit per school. The only exception is if there’s a head coaching staff change; only then could an athlete revisit the same D1 school.

In men’s basketball, recruits are still allowed a second official visit to the same school, as long as the second visit isn’t during the same academic year.

That is correct. This what I based my reply off of. Unlimited but you cannot have multiple at same school.

My guess is that all the offers are out for the 2025 class. We have 3 commits; Caigan Crabtree, Drea Wilson and Hannah Wells. We have offers out to Alisa Sneed, Elsa Morrison and MaTaia Lawson. Was hoping for another pitcher but I don’t think that is coming now. Just hope we get the commitment from our last 3 offers. This would be an amazing 2025 class!!

Sorry, I haven't kept up a list of commits. I always like a list where you can glance at who and where they play. Thanks for the list Ellis21d:

1. Caigan Crabtree: IF, Princeton, TX
2. Drea Wilson: IF/Util, Forney, TX
3. Hannah Wells: P, Coahoma, TX

Elsa Morrison committed to the wrong orange, shes going to Tennessee. Still think we get a visit from Khamari Hall.

Really disappointed we did not get Morrison. I think she was a top priority for Coach White and Singleton. But this opens up an offer for another player, assuming they are going with a 6 player class. Now just hoping we can reel in Sneed and Lawson. Was hoping for Berkley Zache as a second pitcher but she went to Oklahoma. Ugh.

Lawson is really good and on the same level as Morrison. I think Morrison was Tennessee all the way so nice even getting a visit from her.

A new Hook’em from Coach White! Who could it be? MaTaia Lawson would be Grand Prize winner!

Don’t think it’s Alisa Sneed. She’s raving about her aggie visit this past weekend. When they use the word “amazing” describing the visit it’s not a good sign for us!

Yes, has to be either MaTaia or Alisa. Either are great grabs. MaTaia obviously moreso given her power. Sneed noticeably faster on basepaths but Mataia has more juice in her bat. Both extremely athletic.

T-9—Jaycie Nichols, IF/UT, Epic Fastpitch 18U – Smith
Jaycie is in her second year with the Epic Fastpitch organization competing for Head Coach Scotty Smith on the 18U National team. She’s the leadoff hitter and her coach states: “Jaycie has multiple tools in her bag that she can use: bunt, drag, slap or stand in and drop a bomb.” She typically plays third base and up the middle for her club team and Coach Smith continues: “Jaycie also has exceptional speed and is one of the best base runners I have coached plus her softball IQ is very high.” The junior has also accomplished something very few can say they’ve done—she’s a four-time state champion and two of those have been in fastpitch for her Caddo (Okla.) High team and two are in slow pitch. Jaycie is looking for her third title in Oklahoma High School Fastpitch play as her team, headed by Coach Dustin McKay, has won districts and looks to win it all again this fall. Uncommitted as of now, Coach Smith concludes: “She’s continuing to go through the process and has many top programs interested in her.”

Found this interview with Jaycie Nichols from June 29, 2023. Can’t find her listed as a ranked player in any softball service? Someone needs to come to her defense because I see her as a very average player when Coach White should be getting elite high ranked players. I am disappointed with this addition to the class unless someone can prove me wrong.

She is ranked 9 on Extra Inning, I posted it above.

I have an extra innings subscription and I cannot find her listed any where in overall or any infield position for the 2025 recruits. Not sure where you found her listed as 9?
Obviously Coach White and Singleton have watched her play and think enough of her to offer her a scholarship in the 2025 class. I hope she turns out to be a slayer! She just doesn’t come with much fanfare.

Talked to a friend whose judgment I trust and whose kid is a high level 2024 committed to a Top Program. He swears this Nichols kid is really good and he thinks better than Crabtree--has more tools. Says she has competed in 18U and has excelled against top competition. Maybe she just doesn't have the shine that some of the others come with and we inherited a great player flying under the radar. Hope so.

I sure hope you’re right as well. We have 4 committed to the 2025 class so I would think that would leave maybe a couple more spots available. I’m hoping for players with some star power to close out the class. All we can do is trust in Coach White’s decision on who he wants to go to war with.

While we appreciate the link to the list, some of us don't have a subscription to Extra Inning Softball. Can you give us a summation of our future players' ranking?

T-7—Hannah Wells, P, OK Athletics National—Madden/Clemmer
Hannah, who recently committed to the Univ. of Texas—the first school to call her on Sept. 1 when the contact period began—is a remarkable student-athlete who excels both on and off the field with a 4.0 GPA and a No. 3 ranking in her class. She had quite the 2023 high school softball campaign as well as she helped lead Coahoma (Texas) to the UIL 3A State title and was the 3A Tournament MVP. In the final win, Hannah was named as the Player of the Game and also was her District 6-3A MVP and earned All-State honors. A two-way standout, she batted .602 for the Bulldogettes with a .693 on=-base percentage and had 21 home runs, which ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 4 nationally according to MaxPreps. She also had 65 RBIs with 28 walks versus only four strikeouts all season. In the circle, the future Longhorn went 21-1 with three saves and in 129.1 inning had 239 K’s and limited the opposing hitters to just a .111 batting average.

T-74—Caigan Crabtree, SS, Texas Bombers Gold 16U
Caigan is a rare breed amongst her peers. Defensively, she moves with efficiency and a keen understanding of angles in the shortstop position. Caigan has smooth hands, a quick transfer and velocity with her throw that will challenge any speed on the bases. Her offensive power sends balls out of the park in a hurry and is able to make quick game-time adjustments in order to get it done when it counts. The Tier-1 Alliance National Champion has received interest from many notable programs, include Texas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Arkansas, and Florida, to name a few.

Drea Wilson was not listed in the updated final countdown from Extra Innings.
