Well, I thought the R would cruise into a comfortable win..

Wrong. OHTANI steps to the plate with 1 on base and CRUSHES a deep ball into center field for a 2 run HR!

Lead cut in half: 6-3

Final 6-3!! :yippee:

Thursday: EOVALDI VS OHTANI

1st inning. Got a walk and hit off Ohtani but we left 2 men on base.

0-0 going to T2

5-2 angels B9th....reliever came in and issued 3 back to back to back walks!

Based loaded, no outs for Duran.

Duran, Seager strikeout but Lowe draws a walk, a run walks in...

5 -3

Garcia at bat, bases still juiced!

Rats! Strikeout. So many Rangers left on base tonight.

Attended tonight's game. Ohtani is an overrated pitcher, I just haven't seen greatness but his HR put them over

Dfw... where did the smog/ haze come from. I've never seen it this bad. Not even close. Looks like LA in the 60s, 70s

Simien getting tossed was the turning point. ******** call, he didn't fire up the ump after the inning. Hurt the Rs because his turn at bat in the 9th had bases loaded no out

Well, your not staying plugged in as much has caused this recent losing streak!!

Start watching more and drinking to help reduce the skid!!!

Opposition pitching catching up. Batters have to adjust.

The question is will they find and sign a veteran before the trading deadline? (Need to make up for the loss of deGrom.)

Skid ends!

Sat. beat the birds 4-2. Could not watch much- busy day, so not sure how Dunning faired starting the game....anyone else with focus on this game!?

WorsterMan, I actually got to watch part of the game today. Dunning looked very good - a quality start. And the bullpen locked down the last three innings with no real issues. The offense did just enough today.
We still need to see the offense get it back on course again - and soon. This is a challenging month, not many bottom-feeders on the schedule. Fortunately the Astros haven't been able to make up any significant ground in the AL West race. Astros and Angels are now tied for second - 4.5 games behind.

I remember in 1974 earl weaver saying he didn't even look at divisional standings until June 15, everything before then was throat clearing. They were in last place at the time (around 2nd week of june). Remember it like yesterday because the Billy Martin rangers were challenging the A's in 74.

Orioles wound up winning the east, rangers fought hard but finished 2nd in the west behind Oakland

74 was the most fun I ever had as a ranger fan. From horrible in 73 to a contender. Fun days

Without pitching depth I give us no chance to be honest. Hope I'm wrong

HELLO WIN COLUMN!!!
Sunday down 6-0 early to Jays.... clawed back with 8 runs and finished with a 11-7 win.

Important to win the series and get back on track!

3 on the road vs. White Sox coming up....

GO RANGERS!!! :texas-flag:

Agree H2RA,

Outside of WS 2011, 1974 was my favorite season. It solidified my early serious interest in the Rangers and MLB.

MAGIC what Billy Martin did with that team - fun team and memories....

So I get out to my first in person game of the season and the Rangers offense promptly disappears and they go on a 2-7 run. I am going to blame my father in law who went with me:smile1:.

The last two games the offense has come back and the Rangers appear to have ended a pretty normal skid after being so hot for so long. The Rangers just need consistency over the rest of the year. Keep in mind that if they can go just 7 games over .500 through the end of the season (that is 49-42) they will be at 94 wins and almost certainly in the playoffs as a wild card. To be in a position to just have to be solid the rest of the year to be a playoff team is a phenomenal position because this team is more than capable of being 10 plus games over .500 over the next 91 games and to challenge for the AL West.:texasflag:

Monday - Heaney really good and back on track plus solid work by the bullpen to beat the lowly W. Sox 5-2.

Jung was a stud 3 hits with 5 at bats. A crushing HR. 3 runs.

45-27 on the season - still in first place West.

The Rangers are taking flak for being the only MLB team who did not cave to having a Pride night.
They should be congratulated.

Under a great deal of pressure from MLB HQ, I think the owner and leaders in the Ranger organization carefully considered having a "Pride Night".

In a generally conservative state and area, I suspect they anticipated a MAJOR backlash from fans, sponors, advertisers if they had a pride night. A backlash that could harm the program for years. Plus a backlash from fans in the mist of a terrific team and season start could undermine the progress...

Re: pride and any other social movement hoisted on BASEBALL fans

Reason I didn't go to a game since 2019 was because most every ranger player took a knee for the anthem after the covid delay. I saw Joey Gallo on a knee and thought "I'm done". If they don't like what the flag stood for they can play BASEBALL in Japan

(Please note, my opinion is related to BASEBALL. It was MLBs decision to promote and approve a social movement action of disrespect. Not mine. They made their decision, I made mine. Simple as that)

I went to the game last Thursday but to be honest I'm in no rush to go back. Contrast that to prior to 2020... big difference

^^^ Yeah. The take-a-knee ******** really soured me to the point I had not been back to a game -edit - since 2019 -edit-

My first game back since 2019 was last Tues. vs. LAA.

Back to the game.

R's in a struggle with soxs: 4-4 B7th, 2 sox on base 2 outs. Anderson on the mound with wicked side arm pitches!

Anderson gets critical strikeout to end the inning!!!

Rangers ABSOLUTELY ROBBED with booth bad call overturnig out call at the plate - Andrus scores to give sox lead again 7-6.
