This might be for all the marbles and be the leading contender to win it all on Jan 20th. We need to bring our A+, A, A-, B+, etc. game next Friday if we want to continue on our journey.

This is aligning up to be amazing! No matter who wins this game we will have an entire off-season for the media to hype the first game of the season next year in Columbus. No matter what that game will be a "revenge game".

Texas has weaknesses but the players are talented enough to overcome them most of the time against all but maybe three or four teams in the country. The running game is weak and needs to be "schemed" to gain yards. Play calling is not always appropriate for the situation. Ewers' decision-making is not always good. Of these, the lack of a strong running game is the most significant weakness. It will be fatal against Ohio State.

34 - 24 Buckeyes.

I’ll roll the bones and say good Texas shows up. Sark has teased us long enough with all gas no brakes.. he’s been saving it for games like this. That said…
Texas 27
Buckeyes 24

It's hard for me optimistic about this one, but then I lean towards pessimism most of the time. Often we seem to play down to lesser teams and play up to better ones, so perhaps we rise to the occasion. I hope we can find a way to run the ball so play action can be effective.

I think Texas will show up.

I do not know if we will face the OSU who played Michigan or the OSU who played Oregon yesterday. That will be the determinant.

That being said, I think this will be a lower scoring game than people might expect. Both defenses are really good.

OSU 24
Texas 21

Well, at least we finally get to play another team with good-natured, warm, sober, and welcoming fans. It will be like a reunion of long-lost friends.

(They have a whole new respect for us after the bottle throwing incident; that's an old Cleveland dog pound move...)

Circa opened with Texas +5.5 and the over/under at 53.5. Money line has Texas +190 and the other team at -220.

I expect the game goes over, but not until late.

Going to have to use the reverse jinx mojo:

OSU 35
Texas 21
Not changing my prediction but a thought did cross my mind. I expect OSU will come into the game overconfident to the point they don’t practice any fake punts, trick 4th down plays, etc. If so, and Auburn can make FG’s, Texas has a chance.

Unlike our two Georgia games, no one -- except maybe Corso -- will pick Texas. Nor should they. But there are some intangibles I like.

Home field fans... We will need them!

Ohio State will come in sky high, and they should. They steamrolled Tennessee, and then annihilated Oregon. They should be very confident, and they will be. But that can be a double-edged sword. As Saban would say, it's "rat poison." All they will be reading and hearing is how great they are, and that winning the Cotton Bowl is a foregone conclusion. No matter how hard Ryan Day attempts to change the message, 18-21 year olds on social media will believe they are invincible.

Conversely, the Texas players will hear for the next nine days that they are lucky to even be in the game (which is true), and that they don't have a chance.

This game reminds me a bit of the game on 1/4/06 in the Rose Bowl. No one, and I mean NO ONE thought Texas could win. That underdog mentality worked very well for us. That, and a transcendent talent who would not be denied. Texas played a near perfect game that night, and we will need to do so next Friday night to have a shot.

I think we can win, but must go:

Lowlife couch burners - 35
Texas - 24

I want so badly to be wrong.

I think if we play 2 minute offense all game we win. But knowing Sark and crew we will sleep with the lead and watch it dwindle away. Hate to say it and hope I am wrong

Texas: 27

Reminds me of the 2008 OU game. OU was #1 and blowing out teams. Texas was doing well, but mainly off the arm of McCoy, because there was little to no running game.

McCoy had to take over and the D made some key stops in the second half.

This game comes down to Ewers and being almost perfect.

Screw this The Ohio State University crap. They're Ohio State U. Period. Are we tUT? Or is Alabama tUA. We're all the state university. Their holier than thou sanctimonious pretentious BS gets no quarter from me. I guess I woke up today in a pissy mood.

Showing my age here, but when I grew up people referred to Texas simply as “The University”. I guess it changed when every school in Texas decided to be a “University”.
i still refer to Texas as “the University” when asked where I went to school.
