Hopefully the Rangers are streching and getting the trigger bullpen tired! May pay dividends during the Thurs. game.

At half way mark the Rangers are 49-32. They have stumbled a bit of late but if you had told me in March they would be at 49 wins halfway into the season I would have asked for some of what you were drinking. The dog days are still ahead and the flaws that we all worried about in April and May particularly with the bullpen are starting to manifest. Texas also cant continue to bank on hitting so well with runners in scoring position. Never-the-less it has been a magical first half of 2023 and lets all just keep the faith that the second half can be just as fun.:texasflag:
 
^^^ Agree, me thinks a wise and timely trade. If the Rangers want to make a serious run in the playoffs, they need help in the bullpen!
 
^The Ranger Magic didn't show up in the last of the ninth. Afternoon game today - a good chance to put the Astros away early by getting Eovaldi some early runs.

^Excellent outing by Eovaldi. Rangers left half a village on base, but still managed to tally five runs.
Astros may have some pitching issues on Sunday - scratched their planned starter, may have a bullpen game (or call up a player from AAA). Good opening for the Rangers to jump on the pitching early and build a big lead.
 
Well Sunday was a huge disappoint as the Rangers bascially got committee pitching from the bullpen and lost 5-3.

Hopefully today Perez can help even the series, although he pitches agains Cristian Javier who is 7-1.
 
Rangers wasted an incredible comeback and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Lead over Astros now down to 3 games. On to Boston - need to start winning again.
 
Meanwhile, Astros are getting easy pickings playing the Rockies in Houston. Rangers need to win the series in Boston and in D.C. -5 of the 6 would be very nice.
 
Thurs. vs Boston .

Only saw 9th inning live. Eovadi with a small lead after 7th and bullpen collapsed. Many men left on base.
