2022 House and Senate election

Who says they are effective?
I'm being facetious, just like you were 2 posts back.

But, H2RA is saying the RINOs will take charge if they get the majority. I say otherwise. But he also says McConnell needs to go. So, if he needs to go, then that sort of proves what I am saying.

I didn't say they'd take charge. I said they'd have voted down Biden's bills that went through, only because democrats had a majority in both houses.

NO REPUBLICAN SENATOR voted yes on those bills. If we had the majority, those bills were dead in the water.

Okay.

6721,

Dead people find it very hard to walk and stand in line for voting machines. Then there is all that self-image stuff with people pointing and staring. So much easier to just put a stamp on it, but there is a rumor that the morticians union are pressuring to have them mail each of their ten ballots from a different post office.

Damn, I woke up this morning, and we still don't know who the governor of Arizona will be or who will control the House. Tons of elections still undecided several days after the election. If we were having recounts or court challenges, I'd understand, but this is just the initial counting of the votes. Unbelievable.

If you want to see a true "threat to democracy," this is it. I can't imagine something that would shake the people's trust in the electoral system more than this.

Why are Republican leaders not out there shouting about this nonsense? It's like they like to lose. This mail-in ballot BS casts a shadow of illegitimacy on our elections and Dems want to keep expanding it.

Every state with a conservative governor finished their counting the day of the election. All these problems happen where Democrats are in charge. If you can't see the forest for the trees at this point you probably shouldn't be allowed to vote. :smile1:

Not seeing the story and I LIVE here...

Are you talking about the issues related to the litigation on Dora having sought to extend the polling hours? Local court approved by State Supreme Court overturned. Not sure just how many provisional ballots are in that one hour span.

And then there was the lack of ballots in some precincts, compounding problems with crappy machines that were not feeding properly. These were the machines that Dora insisted on getting a few years ago despite the fact that our older ones worked just fine AND gave a paper record. Meanwhile, these touch screen pieces of crap have been balky from day one...I was having to bang on my machine so heavily the table was shaking. I probably could have been walked for comments related to whose fault it was and the County Clerk who could fix the problem...I know all of the people behind me heard me along with at least those in my row of seven machines.

So if the Texas Supreme Court denied the additional hour why would any of those ballots be counted?
It does look like the Harris county GOP will fight.

Except isn't Az Gov a Republican?

You're right. Arizona has been so confusing to me. The election is between Hobbs and Lake. Hobbs is the current SoS. I thought she was the incumbent governor. Ducey must have been a very well respected Republican in Leftist circles.

The problem could also be strictly in Maricopa County and therefore caused by leftists in the local organizations. After 2020 Ducey obviously didn't do anything to clean up the corruption.

So apparently the new gaslighting narrative from the Left is that this is perfectly normal to take this long to count votes. WTF? We have an election every two years. When was the last time it took this long to know the majority in both houses of Congress (other than 2020 which was a mulligan)?

"Normal" is that the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii don't come in until late at night or early the next morning because of the time difference. By the next morning, we typically know at least an initial count for all states.

Hell, I remember going to bed on election night in '16 assuming Hillary won. I woke up the next morning, checked my phone, turned to Mrs. Deez, and said, "you're not gonna believe this, but Biff from Back to the Future just won the election." We knew the result the next morning from Germany - 6 hours ahead of the East Coast and 9 hours ahead of the West Coast.

Harris County: they don't have enough polling places or machines to handle the traffic of people voting after getting off work so they extend the opportunity to vote by allowing anybody standing in line at 7 to cast a ballot. What is the problem with that?

We need to have a national day off on election day so everybody has a chance to vote, even if they were too lazy to do so ahead of time, which is easy. But not everybody is highly motivated like me and most of the people on this board and so it needs to be real easy. I personally think voting is a waste of time and only encourages candidates to think their coronation bestows some legitimacy on their acts. But if we are going to have elections, make it easy for the dumb and lazy too.
