where is greggo?

I surely didn't like drugged-up Hammer. But the Hardline without the Hammer isn't much of a show--all your left with is Rhyns, who without Hammer playing off him is just a bitchy old man. Seriously, the only difference between crotchety Rhyner and crotchety Galloway is that Galloway knows something about sports.

Korby doesn't make up what the show loses with Hammer. Who every characterized him as "Tries Too Hard Korby" hit the nail on the head. He's fine as a yuck monkey (barely), but as a co-host he's seriously lacking.

In conclusion, bring back Rocco!

I miss hearing Greggo and all his random spurts. Hope they don't take off all the drops. I can't take Corby, since he is not capable of speaking a sentence without mentioning ou.

Corby is good in spots. Quips here and there, bits, and e-news/community quick hits. I also agree the sound of the show with Corby co-hosting is just not right.

RIP the legend of Motorcycle Greggo

I'm not entirely certain how there would be any legal basis to prevent the station from mentioning Greggo's name or even from using his drops. But whatever. The Hardline was never my favorite show on the Little Ticket, but this is a genuine shame. One can only wish Greggo the best and hope he finds work somewhere soon.

Oh, and ESPN is out of its mind to pass on him.

^^^

I guh-gree. Sounds like The Ticket (Cumulus) is caving. They could fight for the right to use Greggo drops, but sounds like they are giving into Greggo's demands in order to end this whole thing is soon as possible.

agreed corby is trying way too hard. what happened to letting it come to you? i guess that's much harder when there's only two other guys around.

i wonder why greggo's still all over the ticket website though? i'd think they'd get rid him there, too.

It's really strange w/o Greggo- though before he left, I found myself pucnhing out frequently-- due to the repetition, multitude of commercials and tired content. A lot of days it seemed like they were really mailing it in.

Rhynes and Corby are really gripping right now. Rhyner still has his moments- but Corby isn't a legit number two man, and Deep Dish Danny adds less than zero to the equation. So, I hope they find something to right the ship- sooner rather than later.

Weird thing is- I don't think Greggo could carry his own show, nor in the past, would I have ever thought Greggo was irreplaceable-- but, it just seems lake the Hardline is lacking an kind of punch without him.

I think that's the implication.

For the record, I don't think Greggo could do a show on his own, either. But I do think that Greg partnered with someone else could be a big improvement over what they're rolling out on ESPN now.

Do you think that Greggo spent the last 15 years calling Randy Galloway "Grandpa Urine" will hurt his chances of hiring on at ESPN?

i dont think he would want to go to ESPN. why would he go to a station that gets zero ratings after working at one of the highest rated sports stations in america for the last 10+ years.

So only three original members left (and Craig Miller needs to beat it in the worst way) and one team remaining. How are the rating holding up? Probably good since the Boys are playing well. Station has always thrived when the Pokes do.

i agree with the poster above. if you would have told me the absence of greggy would have made this much of a difference a couple of months ago, i'd call you crazy.

love OU corby, but man he struggles in the full time slot. rich is not the answer either. i think they need to go outside the family on this one.

I wouldn't mind K-Scott getting a try. Corby is good in increments. I can't stand his instance that something is the "greatest ____ of our generation" and the use of the nullifier, "there is no question". It is getting about as annoying as Gordon saying something from his childhood was "so magical" or how he "loved the smell of _____ " from his childhood. Or the Rhynes' use of the term "organic".

I liked EDGAA's or maybe it was someone else's suggestion of moving BAD Radio to afternoon drive. I think the time of the Hardline has maybe come and gone.

It is an interesting dilemma. First thing is whether they will recognize there is a problem- or just carry on and hope something hits. When Rhynes and Greggo are together, they are greater than the sum of the parts alone- and Corby has a place (and Danny does too). Taking Greggo away, iit seems like they are all floundering.

Which brings up the question-- add someone from within, add someone from outside, leave things w/ Mike and Corby and let Danny have more of a role, or shuffle the deck and move the Musers to afternoon drive, or Bob and Dan up a slot? Gotta believe Mike packs enough stroke at this point, that he's not going anywhere. And, why mess with the Musers- they are golden in the morning slot. So, will be real interesting to see what the braintrust comes up with-- they're in a really delicate position right now. Partly depending upon the behind the scene legal wrangling, I would think they'd try to hit ground running after Jan. 1 with whatever solution they come up with.

Guess that's what the Catman and the rest of the suits get paid for.

I kinda wondering if they are grooming Donovan for a hosting gig. He's on the Cowboys post-game show (a big time deal for a "yuck monkey"), he's hosting fill-in shows, and he's had his own show before (on The Bone, albeit not a talk show).

This should be interesting to see what these guys have to say and how much latitude they have to say it. I'm betting the words 'Greg' 'Greggo' and 'Hammer' are never once said.
