Week 2 Prediction Thread: Texas vs Alabama...7-1-1

Uh-oh, we’re screwed:

former tight end Kendall Randolph is starting at guard at 298 pounds,

On the other hand, former Texas player manhandles Bama OL:

I continue to believe we will have opportunities on defense....
Just wondering how our oline and inexperienced QB can hold up and put many points on the board.
In Sark we trust, right??

This is a nightmare matchup: strong DL vs UT weak OL pass pro. Sark will game plan with quick running plays, screens, RPO’s etc.

And if we do get defensive penetration...something that is possible..
I can see us struggling with Young on the move. I think I can see it more likely he has a big day running than a huge day passing. Though I can see him taking short passes and moving the ball all day ala Brady against us..much like he did in last year's SEC Championship.
How the game is called at the line could come into play...as noted in the article above.

OK...sorry...didn't mean to highjack the "prediction " thread...though we are talking some form of prognastication...

That would take up time - 6 minute drives, etc

But these are smart people. Well, mostly smart. Ah hell they ain’t stupid.
Nah, those would be the ones that keep overlooking the button marked SPONSOR...I hear tell we have a deputy who looks to round up those who don't *spits on ground and squints* sponsor...

The huge differences between this and the "Roll Left" game are that, while our defense was horrible, the opponent was totally one dimensional. Nebraska had been running the same 5 plays for 27 years. We also had an offense that we knew could score points, with James Brown and Priest Holmes, et al.

My fear is that this O-line is going to get Quinn killed and he won't even get the chance to "last resort" Bijan. I like a lot of things about the defense and when it is grown up it will be just fine. But when they give up 21 points and 200 yards in the first quarter, I want to know how they are going to react then. Do they still show up the rest of the game or do they pull a Tom Herman?

I am thrilled to death about this game in that, just like "Roll Left", we have nothing to lose. If we lose 48-12, well it looks like everyone was right, if they kick a late FG to push the margin to 45-35, well huh, look at that, and then there is always a 37-27 win possibility.

Saban hasn't said all of these things about Sark for good press, he has said them because he knows the guy, if left alone, is a generational hire. This is what a rebuild looks like. So come early, stay late, be loud and wear burnt orange.

Hook Em!

I know moral victories are for losers and aggys, but we do know where our program is at right now. There will be a lot of top recruits at the game and many of then are also considering Bamer.

Let's at least make it look like a program getting back to where we once were. I'll be happy with that.

by the end of the season we will have a good, seasoned offensive line. Wish we were playing them then

O Lines win most football games. Bama has a decent one right now Ours is new and young

I suspect we will hear the worst chant in football at the end of the game: Hey, Texs, we just kicked the zhit out of you. Rammer Jammer, etc. ad nauseum.

Hope I am wrong.

Line movement...

While adding the Circa app to the current phone in advance of tonight's flight, I see that the line has come down slightly while the O/U has moved up.

As of a few moments ago, line is Texas +19.5 and the O/U is up to 66. For those also interested in money line (for entertainment purposes only of course), Texas is +865 while the elephants are -1340.

If my tabulations are close Tusaloosa has received 32 votes to win while Texas has 13

My wish is Horn's 29 Bama 25
Realistic Bama 38-27

I have reevaluated my prediction. I think that Alabama is not going to score as much as previously thought.

I don’t see fast drives by Bama. They will try to control the clock. Run game not good so it will be hit or miss. Depends how well they mix in the pass. I see Texas moving the ball in 1st half but Bama stopping it in the 2nd after they adjust.

agree hammer!!

I feel optimistic about all phases of our games (exception of punting)
Here's to hoping they perform up tp expectations; gonna be a loud atmosphere and maybe it gets in head of 'Bama...big game!!!
