Week 2 Prediction Thread: Texas vs Alabama...7-1-1

I see most on here feel as I do, ULM victory was just that, a victory over ULM and not as impressive as needed to put much faith in competing evenly with Ala. I won’t make a prediction on the score but I’ll be impressed if we keep the margin under 14.

Not this year. Horns looked pretty good over all yesterday, but our O and D need a lot of work. I believe the Horns will play Bama as tough as they can, but one observation is we don't have the overall depth. We'll get there eventually and miracles do happen, but this isn't the year.

Bama 46

The O Line and D Line better be ready! If we hold our own at the LOS. There’s a chance! 28-38 Bama.
i just doubt we can hold the LOS in the 4th QTR.

Bama has a Heisman winner at QB. They are loaded with talent and experience on both sides of the ball. Next year we win.

Tide 47
Horns 24

Since my heart will never let me bet or predict against the Horns I put this here feeling like I am not being hypocritical because I believe it will be much worse

I agree, and do not see guys that aren't first team getting playing time, like we saw Saturday. Gonna be a tough game, to say the least.

Alabama 49

Texas 10 (late mop up TD)

That is if Ewers plays the whole game. If not, add a digit to the scoreboard. Our OL & DL are just not good. Hopefully the old coaches' thought that the greatest improvement is from game one to game two comes true.

It is a damn football not your girlfriend's breast; DON'T HOLD THE DAMN THING ALL DAY!

Yes, an elephant can kill a cow; but a longhorn can run under the behemoth and rip its belly open in one pass.

This is a hard one. QE showed no ability to complete a pass downfield against ULM. If he cannot do that Texas will face an 8 man defensive front all night long. If he can the LB's and DB's will have to play back and Texas can hang with Bama.

Hope does not play:

Texas - 10
Alabama - 56

Viper,

A few things about last night:

1) WRs did not create separation against the vaunted ULM secondary

2) Don't know how thick the playbook is, but I think we saw about 10% last night

3) OL & DL showed a minimum improvement

4) If Ewers gets hurt, we are not in trouble, we are nonexistent.

5) Crowd last night was much larger than I expected and was very vocal. Moving band and students to northeast really adds to sound.

Texas scored 38 offensive points and its supposed Heisman front runner had less than 100 yards against ULM. Defense was still suspect in many areas. It was ULM.
