Ukraine updates

I'm telling ya, this is a golden opportunity for Putin to get out of Ukraine, with perhaps a bit more land, and still be able to tell his supporters back in Russia the Kremlin spin that he "won a glorious victory." (even though, in reality, he's getting his butt kicked) And, of course, the Russians will buy it, or pretend to buy it so they don't get gulag'ed. They'll be building statues of the a$$hole within a few weeks.

Russia-Ukraine war latest: western officials urge caution over Russia’s peace talk promises – live
  • Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu said Moscow’s “main goal” in Ukraine was now the “liberation” of the Donbas region. In a sign that Moscow may be switching to more limited objectives after facing fierce Ukrainian resistance in the first month of the war, Shoigu claimed the “main tasks of the first stage of the operation have been completed”

Yeah, sure thing, Sergei. That is, if the main tasks of the first stage were to: (1) demonstrate the incompetence of the Russia military, (2) stretch supply lines until they broke, (3) see which Russian flag officers need to get sacked the most, (4) move the Russian troop morale meter from bad to atrocious, and (5) piss off most of humanity by committing mass atrocities in Mariupol and elsewhere.

Here's Sergei Shoigu:

Musberger may have already started on his statue.

Russians scramble for groceries and basic needs items as Russia feels the impact of international sanctions. Russian inflation spikes above 14% (and rising).

You know, there are still Romanovs alive. The Bolsheviks savagely murdered Anastasia, her parents, and her siblings. But some Romanovs survived. Maybe if Putin is “encouraged to leave” by his military, they can bring in a new Romanov Czar. This should appease (or even thrill) the Russian traditionalists and the Rus Orthodox Church. Dugin would probably break down crying tears of joy. I don’t think Russia even wants to be a democracy.

Oh yeah, the Romanovs are related to the British Monarchy, so they may have a friend in the UK.

For pity’s sake, the sanctions are a joke with the exceptions. It’s the same as expecting Will Smith or any of the lib hero’s to be ‘sanctioned’ with any penalties of any meaning. I would say take it up at the ballot box but is there really any difference? S***.

Musburger, I don’t know if you’re being lazy in dropping in links to videos with no context or explanation, or just being cute. I won’t just click something. How about a little exposition?

Am I the only one that is cautious with Musburger’s links?

You are right. It's dangerous to click on, read, or even think without first getting approval from your authorities. Because if you investigate independently, there's no way to insure you won't be misled. Better to be safe and just close your eyes and ears.

Here's the context since apparently neither the WSJ or the Washington Post has told you. The city of Mariupol has been laid waste, the Azov Battalion has been all but destroyed, and a reporter under the cover of the DPR is interviewing civilians to show what they have endured, what they know, and have experienced. The upshoot is that Azov used the population as cover, forcing civilians into basements and using civilian infrastructure to house artillery. Not only that, but as Azov retreated, they fired on civilian infrastructure. The citizens were left on their own without any protection in terms of food, transportation to safety, and so forth. And your here. Zelensky, is proud of what they have done. And I guess, so are you.

I guess I don’t get your point. If true (and that’s a big “if”, considering the source), then the Azov group has done an awful thing. Know what? None of it would have happened had the Russian army not invaded. It also sure looks like the Russians are killing more civilians and blowing up more buildings than anyone else.
Zeke sky is a flawed man, but he’s still better than Putin by every metric but net worth. Ukraine is an often corrupt government, but still more honest and legitimate than Russia’s.

Meanwhile Democrats want to give Iran nuclear capability. Putin isn’t a religious idiot. Iran is. Democrats are so freaking stupid.

Per Sky News, many Russian Army soldiers are sexually assaulting and killing teenagers. Looting is rampant-supply is poor. They are seeing large scale breakdowns in military order and discipline. Vintage Red Army. That’s always been how they’ve operated. They only win (on the occasions when they actually win some) when they have overwhelming numerical advantage.

I suppose 10 Russians = 1 American, 2 Brits or Germans, 3 Ukrainians, or …………..

It's vintage most armies sadly. I don't think that has ever been the norm in the US military thank God. But I know from a South Vietnamese veteran that he did all that stuff unashamedly when he was fighting the Viet Cong. War is the worst thing in human nature.

I really did not want to post this here in west mall but I have had a few trips in Dion's jail for not doing it.

Sure, it happens with us, but we usually maintain good order and discipline. We’re probably the most professional military in the world. And in those rare cases when it does happen, we generally prosecute the offenders.

The Red Army, on the other hand, has been known, since their founding by Trotsky and Lenin, as a marauding band of rapists, murderers of civilians, and looters. They’re similar to pirates, but on land.
