Ukraine updates

The return of the political commissars to the Russian Army has been noted by our Armed Forces press:

Ensuring the Political Loyalty of the Russian Soldier

In Soviet echo, Putin gives Russian army a political wing

Latest reports sound like the Russians have gotten their butts kicked on their planned invasion of the entire country, and are now shifting to Plan B—just take the Donbas region and the strip of S Ukraine connecting it to Crimea.

Then declare victory and ship the dissenters and deserters to gulags in Siberia.

Reports are in that Russian soldiers deliberately killed their commanding officer by running over him with a tank.

Biden, speaking in Poland, declares that Putin “Cannot remain in power.”

Well, that ratchets things up a few notches.

Even if that is what happens, at best it only means the war against Ukraine has ended. The war between Russia and the US will go on. The dollar reserve system is going to be under attack, many, probably most, countries will begin to transact outside the dollar, and Biden’s reckless application of sanctions without having a plan in place to protect the economy, energy, and food supply is what we will be left with.

Yeah, Russia realized they need a plan B. Musburger, you’ve posted that this is about Putin’s desire for a bipolar world. I think, if so, he doesn’t get it.

The competition is not between nations or peoples or religions. It’s between ideas. There is free markets vs. planned economies. There is individual rights vs. authoritarianism. There is property ownership vs. collectivism. There is inquiry vs. orthodoxy. There is rule of law vs. preferred classes (social Justice can get on the wrong side of this one). The society that incorporates the most winning ideas gets to grow the richest, most advanced and happiest.

Criticize the US, if you want, for not going hard enough on the winning ideas, or consistently enough, for sure. But don’t tell me that ******* Putin has a better handle on it.

This war can end with a battered and reduced Ukraine, licking its wounds, but (mostly) free of Russia. Russia will certainly work, within its new economic constraints, to improve its military. Ukraine, a smaller nation, will as well (I suggest they consider adopting a Swiss style militia). I suspect Ukraine will be more successful, because they incorporate more of the winning ideas than Russia. At least, Putin’s Russia.

The world has gotten to see just how much the Russian military sucks. They are pathetic. Not a first world power. Barely even second rate. They just flat out suck. Russia is now a humiliated laughing stock. And their strategy and tactics were developed and implemented by the kids in the short bus.

World superpower? Russia?
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I still fell a bit sorry for the common Russian foot soldier, tanker, airman, and sailor. Just pawns in a cruel game played by a madman.

Taylor, you are living in the past. Pretty much everything you enumerated - individual rights, free markets, property ownership, inquiry - have been eviscerated right in front of you and you don’t even see it.

Individual rights: Did you miss censorship and nullification?
Free markets: Did you not see the great bailouts in 2008? Hell, a Chinese billionaire was bailed out earlier this week when the Nickel market broke.
Property Ownership: You mean like stealing Afghan gold or stealing $300 billion of Russian reserves? Yeah, that shows the world what American government thinks about property rights.
Inquiry: You mean like not questioning “the science.”

Both the US and Britain tried to convince India to abide by the sanctions. India told them to go to hell and is now working with Xi to solve border disputes. Putin didn’t destroy America. America destroyed itself. But don’t blame yourself once you finally see the light. Ninety percent of the country is as blind as you and probably more so.

Ha! Talk about someone living in the past!

Look at today’s reality. Russia is barely a second rate “power”. The economy of Texas alone beats Russia. And Russia is declining. It will get worse in the future with their declining birthrates.

Russia is now relegated to being China’s little b!tch. It’s pretty pathetic really.

Reading comprehension. The US may fall short of what we aspire, but to beat Putin’s Russia, it just has to be better than them. It is.

That has been a revelation. No doubt.

This new knowledge also means they aren't a real threat to Eastern Europe. I think the best path forward is for Poland, Baltics, and Ukraine to work up a defense alliance. Maybe include 2 or 3 other countries. It should be more than enough to provide security and a real independence for Ukraine. Then they need to focus on economic development which will improve their military capabilities.

And our dipsh!t State Dept needs to cultivate an alliance with India. If they swing our direction, China will be checked. Stop driving them away. We have so many of them here as US citizens. Just walk from RLM to Welch Hall sometime. Utilize them.

So far, what we know is that the Russian military can wreck a country just like we have done multiple times. Ukraine is like the boxer who has been knocked to the canvass ten times, his eyes bloodied, and shut closed, but won’t stop. And the US is in the corner egging him on. The difference is that by not giving up, thousands die and millions are homeless. In the end, Ukraine will be demilitarized, and denazified; something that could and should have been agreed upon in January.

We need to get along with India, but they don't want to sanction Russia or go green or go woke. At the current trajectory I don't see what the US is selling that India is buying. If the US would quit pushing Woke Marxism and support fossil fuel use, India would be an easy ally. So would Africa and Latin America too. But Biden and the Democrats will never relate to them in the proper way.

Ukraine is a sovereign independent nation that was invaded by another. It is not Ukraine that should give up and quit the war—it is Russia, the aggressor that invaded a neighboring state, that should give up and quit the war—and go home where they belong. Russia is the aggressor. You are high on crack if you dispute this obvious fact.

A new round of in-person peace talks will now occur this Mon-Wed, Mar 28-30 in Turkey. Hope something positive comes from this round. I don’t know, but I get the feeling that both sides would like to declare victory and put an end to this war. Could just be wishful thinking though…

Outside of nuclear war, no nation could invade an armed citizenry who wants to be free. The warfare that would occur in Texas and the South would be too much.

Wow Candace, spitting fire. The American Right is finally getting back to their traditional roots of fighting foreign military interventions. The exception was the neocon infiltration and betrayal of the American Right after WW2 was over. It is the Right that will call out to America to avoid WW3.

This is disturbing. Ukraine has a moral cause, but when you start doing this kind of stuff it doesn't help that cause, and those supporting them should think twice.

So the Kremlin is now in the "both sides" war crimes argument. The talking points got sent out. War is hell. Invade a country and you open yourself up to the **** and around and find out option. It's a war crime but it pales in comparison to leveling a city.
