Actually, Texas beat aggy twice this year. Last night physically, and one week ago due to the amount of rent free space we occupy in their heads.

The second half tonight was just way too much of the same offense farting around and keeping a team in a game when you should have your foot on their throat and be sucking their soul out. The defense was just incredible and every single freaking time they needed to step up they did. Look, any win over aggy is a good win but boy was tonight frustrating and painful for far too long by the offense and if Texas is going to make what is already a great season into a legendary one the offense needs to step up starting next week in Atlanta and get back to being something the defense complements not carries.

Negative takes on a great win are reserved for sponsors.

He's come into his own this year, especially the last half of the year. The talent was always there. He was a bit lost last year. He's found his way and emerges as an all-conference LB next year.

We would have been almost surely in the payoff even if we lost today (as long as we didn't get blown away and fell out of the top-10).

Now we are sure fully sure of being in the playoff. Even if we lose next week, we will be ranked top-6 or so and will host a home game to make the final-8. Win next week, and we get a top-4 bye and are in the final-8 as probably the #2 seed.

We WILL NOT lose next week, so let's not discuss the possibility. Our guys will refuse to lose.

Looking back at the game. This is the most dominant 10-point W I've ever seen. The Aggie defense scored their TD on a tip-drill INT that went for a Pick-Six. The got close to the goal-line due to a blocked punt, but couldn't punch it in. The Texas defense totally dominated aggy offense. The Texas offense coughed it up twice in the red zone (the INT and the fumble). Thus there were three plays that gave aggy hope and cost Texas points. This could have been 34-0. The Texas defense has now reached "elite" status - very capable of a national championship. Clean up ball security and kicking issues on offense and special teams and the offense will be near the "elite" level.
The Horns will need the same level of focus and intensity against Georgia next week for the SEC Championship.

BTW, hats off to the officials. They had three challenging reviews, and got each of them right. When have we ever seen that? The Mukuba reversal was particularly admirable. The respected the spirit of the rule.
