Texas Longhorns vs Aggy Game Thread

I was worried with Banks leaving after this year.

Not anymore. We're in good hands for next year.
I'm still worried. We will be breaking in a bunch of new starters and it always takes time to gel.

What gives me hope is that we keep the same OL coach and offensive scheme, which the new starters have been practicing.

Guys like Taafe make Texas great. Something that aggy will never understand or accomplish. Witness their behavior after the bonfire game. They behaved like total trash.
This young man, Michael Taaffe, exudes class, judgment & humility. He is the epitome of a leader and I predict that he will achieve great heights in his life after football.

I know someone on this thread will know the answer to this question, and apologies if it was already covered, though I couldn’t find it. On Ewers’ fumble, why wasn’t he down the moment he began his slide? I thought the rule in college was as soon as a player started a slide, the ball was dead there. To my eye, Ewers was sliding feet first. If that’s right, shouldn’t the ball have been dead at the start of his slide? No one seems to be talking about that anywhere, so I’m sure there’s an explanation. Hook’em!

Some of those turnip gardeners paid upwards of $1,000 to see their beloved ags barf all over the field.
I went to high school in Bryan (Class of ‘96) but didn’t hear this one despite much of my youth spent festering in the Dysfunction Junction area. Turnips?

You know that is a great question. I really don’t know, but that makes a lot of sense because they called the man down when he starts to slide not at the end of his slide.

I think it was not clear he was sliding when the ball was punched out.

Give this one to the D and the offense line. Great game. Love the way Sark has changed the culture on this team. To think,a few years ago they wouldnt even stand for the eyes. Wow, what a change he has made. QEs game was better than I thought it would be. I just dont understand why we keep having the meltdown in the third quarter. Is QE trying to do too much or is it the play calling? Hey I will take the win.Hook em
And Wisner imo. He was REAL.

Sooooooo happy to shut the Aggie pie holes for another year! And I know we're not supposed to complain today..... but WTF has happened to our kicking and punting. It's the worst I can remember!

Anybody have the link to Sark's post-game presser? It's usually on Youtube, but I can only find Elko's though I enjoyed his candor about his team being annihilated.

By,

You are forgetting the last game of the SWC, which Texas won at aggy land in 1995 as the 3rd most important game.

Regarding the passing game, Bond doesn’t seem full speed yet. Also it appeared Aggy was covering the deep ball, which led to open areas in middle of the field for both passing and running.

I did forget that one.

I wasn't sure what was going on. I think that 3rd down pass into the flat that just bounced out of bounds stuck in my craw. Seemed there was some miscommunication there. It was an odd thing to see our running game so dominant, yet our pass protection somewhat shaky. At least that was my impression.
