Regarding Blue’s catch, he had control of the ball (after the initial bounce against the arm) all the way through to the ground. Once on the ground the aggy player tried to dislodged the ball. Too late.This is what I thought, but apparently by rule if the pylon is touched before the player goes out of bounds it is a td. I don't know if that is correct, but that was how it was explained to me anyway. Same with Blue's catch. He had control and a foot down so it was a touchdown at that point and the ball movement after he hit the ground didn't matter.
In any event, this is why it took so long to review the call (it wasn’t the foot) and why the referee said the receiver had control thoughout. This is very similar to the Sweed catch in the EZ at Ohio State in 2005.
