Texas Longhorns vs Aggy Game Thread

As I understand the rules. Texas could loose next week but still make the playoffs. Is that correct?
We would have been almost surely in the payoff even if we lost today (as long as we didn't get blown away and fell out of the top-10).

Now we are sure fully sure of being in the playoff. Even if we lose next week, we will be ranked top-6 or so and will host a home game to make the final-8. Win next week, and we get a top-4 bye and are in the final-8 as probably the #2 seed.

For the second year in a row, we are in the national championship conversation at the end of the regular season. I had thought the days of VY and Colt might never come again in my lifetime.

The second half tonight was just way too much of the same offense farting around and keeping a team in a game when you should have your foot on their throat and be sucking their soul out. The defense was just incredible and every single freaking time they needed to step up they did. Look, any win over aggy is a good win but boy was tonight frustrating and painful for far too long by the offense and if Texas is going to make what is already a great season into a legendary one the offense needs to step up starting next week in Atlanta and get back to being something the defense complements not carries.

Agree but imagine being OhioSt and losing at home to a 23 point underdog or going into 8-OT at home against another double digit underdog. Let’s put things in perspective

TexAgs Gold.

To hear The Eyes being played in Kyle Field was so beautiful. But then for ABC to show Sark near midfield waving his guys away from the aTm logo was awesome, a true show of class. I hope those morons up in Michigan and Ohio saw that tonight.

Long story short: I couldn't get in to the game so I watched it with about 15 Aggies... most of whom are rational. Some not so much. The takeaways from that bunch:

1. Moss is what made their offense tick when Reed was in and I don't disagree.

2. The tiredness of the A&M trenches is due to depth and needing to spend more NIL $$$ on it. Again... don't disagree.

3. Jimbo either would have won this game by 21 or lost it by 45.

4. QE has great touch but his turnovers were literally the only thing that made the game seemingly close.

5. They all couldn't believe how good our DL was after losing Murphy and Sweat.

6. Bitching about refs... nothing changes on that front. Picking up the targeting flag was kind of 50/50 from the people near me, but they'd literally yell HOLDING on every run play. By the middle of the 4th quarter, I just started asking "holding?" on every Wisner run.

7. The CCG: they were all fairly torn on whether we can hang with UGA. The ones who think we can were mostly thinking about QE limiting mistakes and allowing the D to control the game. I think they were also affected by watching the 8 OT game last night. The ones who didn't think we can win just kind of repeated the same criticisms we had of the team after the UGA game.

Should have been 34-0 with those stats.
Football is unpredictable, and not always the best or more talented team wins. The most talented player doesn’t always make the winning play.
We dominated the game except for two plays. The pick six and Quinn’s fumble. Both were quirky. Tipped pass and a defensive lineman slapping the ball out of his hand just as he was beginning to slide.
Some folks are calling for Arch to replace Quinn because of those two plays.
Does anyone think Arch will not throw an interception? Does anyone think Arch will never fumble?
Quinn directed an offensive juggernaut that dominated a good defense tonight. He drove the team down the field repeatedly. He used his legs to keep drives alive. The result was three scores, Missed field goal and two quirky turnovers. Sark used Arch perfectly. Likely we’ll see more of Arch in the coming games.
The O dominated the TOP and the Defense dominated the Aggie offense.
This was a great example of complimentary football.
We are witnessing a special team. The horns have as good a shot as anyone to win the national CHAMPIONSHIP.
