Texas Georgia game thread #2. This time it's serious.

Coach knew what was going on at halftime. He said it to reporter.
I don't give a chit about a close called game but it has to go both ways.
there is holding and pass interference on every pass play, some more blatant...

Quinn should honestly have about nine INTS over the last two games. He's horrible and kills this offense, but we leave him in because Sark is loyal to him and doesn't want to cost him draft money.

Sark is still a winner, but this is bad.

GA back runs up the gut 8 yards to win. No way Texas dies that with their line. That says it all.
Different type of running style. As a general observation you cannot dick around in the backfield against a fast physical defense like Georgia or other teams in conference. You have to get downhill and hit seams quickly, get what you can and hope to pop it. Texas running game is outside zone blocking and slow developing. Doesn’t work in against a Georgia that plays man up with the ability to do so and ignores all the influences of fakes.

All you can ask for is the opportunity. Had their chances, but couldn’t get over the hump. Came out flat in 3rd quarter while Georgia rallied behind their backup qb when it counted.

This is exactly right. The ewers haters are always out. Win or lose. Texas has zero running game and Quinn had 360 passing yards but it’s all his fault. Every fing week the same haters come out and attack this young man. They also don’t like sark and use to not like pk. They probably don’t like pk anymore now. Get a dog

Do you need to type in all bold red?

DC needed call a better game. Their backup QB sucked. He completed 1 pass longer than 10 yards in the air that I can remember. He also had a horrible INT that was 1 guy away from a TD, and a sack fumble that would have been a TD if it didn’t go straight out of bounds on the wide side of the field.

We should have been stacking up for the run more and making that guy beat us throwing. We let them run on us the whole 2nd half. We let their backup QB sit back and dump off short without covering it over and over.

In OT they lined up in empty backfield, did our DC really think they were going to let him throw there? I called QB draw 5 seconds pre snap. But we rush 4 with no spy, and let him run free up the middle for 10 yards. Then with a hurt QB in that can’t even lift his throwing arm we give them 4 yards right up the middle. It didn’t even seem like we were in a goaline defense there.

DC needs to look in the mirror for that 2nd half game plan.

Refs, QE, Sark's playcalling. Blame whatever you wish. But Georgia is clearly a better team. I keep reading we have superior talent. Maybe at a position or two, maybe.

The Horns aren't the first or best team in the nation, but they'll get there.

Wasted a totally dominant first half. Owned every edge in the first half and left with a 6-3 lead. Should have been 14-3, maybe 17-3. Give Georgia credit for a gutsy performance. Also credit the SEC officials for making sure Texas didn't win the Sec Championship in their first year in the Conference. I saw at least three missed holding calls that should have been called on the Dawgs, as well as a Roughing-the-passer the ref missed against them.

We don't know that Manning would have done any better. Is Ewers perfect? Hell, no. Does he have limitations? Hell, yes. But none of us has a crystal ball that can predict what Manning could have done. Or if you do have a crystal ball I hope you bought a spit load of Nvidia stock about two years ago so you can contribute to our NIL collective.

My take on the game is that we essentially lost this game at the line of scrimmage. Zero pass rush from our "elite" defense. And our running game was a total joke. And yes, Sark's play calling in OT, especially on third down was atrocious.

I think Sark is a good coach. No coach calls a perfect game. I think we'll be even better next year which may or may not result in a better record. I think Manning's upside is through the roof. But time will tell.

If I have to see that goofy pic of Bert Auburn one more time I'm going to throw a full beer can at my TV.

All these after the fact coaches are enough to make me scream. Georgia is damn Georgia. We left points on the field. Quinn has never been Vince Young not gonna be. I probably would have played Arch starting quater 3, but I am not tuned into the locker room vibe. QE throws a beautiful pass to the spot. Not going to elude a freight train. Eleven OL penalties to five, right, game. really doesnt matter and might even be advantageous, seeding being a crap shoot. Weve come from being a joke, a bad joke, in 2015, to being probably the preeminent program in 2024. Take a valium! The 1950’s NY Yankees didnt win every game. Signed the number 1 class and nothing but BS complaints. Should should try to play this game. It aint checkers.

Stop it. Youre making too much sense.

Well,Lets face it we got beat by a better team. They beat us twice. We are not at the national championship level yet. Too many errors and mistakes for a championship team.Hopefully we got to the playoffs and win a couple of games. I dont think this team can beat Oregon or Ga if we play them again.

You can’t be one dimensional against a defense the caliber of Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, or perhaps Oregon. Ewers played a good game, but Ewers represents zero threat to run. Their completely unprepared back up quarterback was effective for one reason; he could run.

Sark has a fantastic talent on the bench that he could’ve used and didn’t. I don’t blame Ewers. He had a good game.

Again, it’s not difficult for a talented D to defend a team if they’re one dimensional. And with Quinn, against good defenses, we are one dimensional.

Herbstreit said the hold was bad ... we need a Big Cigar to put together some NIL money for kickers . We win if we had one of those misses ... 🤘
But some of those FGs started off dead center and then hooked to the left. At least that’s how it looked on my TV. Unclear to me how that would be the holder’s fault.

If any close call, just close, to hurt Texas was missed by this crew, it was a complete screwup. The Texas hate is very real. Not sure where it came from or why, but it existed in the 1960’s. Texas hate/ envy exists across genres. Learn to live with it. SWC refs hated us, Big XII did, and SECrefs have turf to protect. I was friends with head of SWC refs in 1970s who confirmed this. The head of Big XII refs has been dismissed, at long last. It is part of the game so be bigger, badder, better. Or whine yourself to sleep.
