Wood is staying out there. Does he even have an arm left? I think he's thrown nearly 140 pitches now.

Butera goes down on two check swings. That's Wood's 12th K of the night.

Lawrence quickly behind, 0-2. Next pitch jams him up and he knocks a slow roller to second. Tucker makes the throw for out No.2.

Wood jumps on top of Sudol, 1-2. Wood stretches ... he's cramping up ... then toes the rubber and blows one by Sudol for strike No.3. That's 13Ks on the evening for Wood. Truly a masterful performance. Too bad his teammates aren't picking him up on offense.

Well, hell....If I knew Wood could pitch these kind of innings I would have had him toss some innings for the Astros before showing up to Texas games on the same day.
 
Boston College finally blinks. Belfiore goes out, Matt Brazis comes in.

Hats off to Belfiore--he wasn't as dominant as Wood, but he was still rock solid. Truly a command performance on his part.

Hernandez falls behind, 1-2, then lines one to left!!! Runners at first and second with one out. C'MON, HORNS!!!!!!!!!!

Tucker takes a pitch outside for ball one. Next pitch is low and inside for ball two. Hitter's pitch on the way. Tucker takes all the way, and Brazis paints the inside corner for strike one. Next pitch is fouled to right. Count runs to 2-2.

Tucker grounds into a fielder's choice. Shorstop makes the throw to second for one out but Tucker easily beats the throw to first. Runners at the corners with two outs. B.C. goes to the pen once again.

Can Belt deliver the first hit with a runner in scoring position? C'mon, Brandon, bring this one home!!!

Eagles are bringing in Nate Bayuk, who made a brief appearance yesterday against Texas State.

Belt digs in ... and shows bunt. Holy ****. Really?

Count evens at 1-1 as Belt lays off a fastball outside. He chases the next pitch outside to fall behind, 1-2. Next pitch is low and away. Count balanced again, 2-2.

Bayuk misses high and inside to run the count full. Belt fouls off the first payoff pitch. Bayuk misses again upstairs and Belt draws a free pass to first. Bases loaded, two outs.

Torres ahead in the count, 2-1. Conference on the mound.

Torres flies the next pitch to shallow left. Unbelievable. Still no hits with runners in scoring position tonight. Un-*******-believable.

New pitcher on for Eagles. How about the old drawing a balk play that Gus used to have for situations like this. I remember a multiinning game against Arizona State ending on a scored run from a balk.
