Texas-Boston College Game Thread

The horns scored in the second freaking inning. 19 innings of no runs is just about as putrid a performance as could be imagined.

We have far and away the best staff in the nation but it feels like softball back during the Cat years, amazing pitching but no freaking run support. This is just painful.

after watching years of Texas baseball, I am putting the blame 70% on Texas offense, and 30% for BC's pitching.

We just don't seem to have any idea about a couple of things
1. bunting - or lack therof, and hitting and running, etc.
2. hitting with two strikes. we have looked at way too many third strikes. need to wear down their pitchers, get them uncomfortable.

Does anybody have an argument for giving any more credit to BC's pitching?

I think the longest NCAA Div. 1 tournament game was previously 19 innings--Fordham against Clemson in 1988.

Belt gets walk.

There is no way BC's staff is this good. The horns are not doing any favors with RISP hitting.

Steal by Belt so another RISP.

Grounder to first. Yet another RISP left on base.

Lead off batter went around at strike three, got tagged ou then argues with ump and gets tossed. 1 down.

Second hitter knocks it to the track in center but Rowe is there. 2 down.

Midnight hour on us.

Sanchez flies out to left to end inning. Going to 22nd.

I'm not at the game, but at least I'm getting to listen to Craig and Keith call it. My wife is being very patient with me... !!!

The problem will quickly become that we are wasting Discharry too. Ruffin and Wood are done for the weekend. Too many more pitches for Discharry and he becomes questionable. The loser of this game is going to be well and truly screwed in terms of pitching tomorrow.

We're sitting here at Bobby V's in Arlington, the unofficial UT headquarters in the metroplex, and the whole bar is following the game online. Gotta love techonology!
