Spokane Regional

The scary part of your post is it is only year 2. Last year I said they were 2 years away from being a legit contender. Dang sure didn’t expect it this fast.
That's the BEST part!

If we're being honest, I'm not sure anyone (Texas fan or otherwise) would have predicted this much post-season success in Vic's two first seasons! He is spoiling us! :D

Another amazing, business like game Ladies!
I don't care about mistakes or bad decisions they may make. This team and coaching staff should have earned all of our respect. What a great season...and it isn't over!! Texas Fight:bevo:

Exactly!

At this point, it doesn't have to be pretty or perfect. No bonus points for margin of victory. WIN AND ADVANCE! And, we did enough tonight to see another game.

I never told myself that a win was going to be easy; but, I also didn't think it was going to be this hard. We made some bad decisions starting at 60-50 with 5 minutes left in the game; and just about everyone was part of that.

Hope the neighbors didn't overhear the constant flow of #?&$@! that I was yelling during that stretch!!!

*But in case they did, I'm sure they're used to it by now.

I am just now getting my blood pressure under control. My wife threatened me if I screamed at the TV and punched the couch again. Their press was effective. We turned it over and many times didn’t get into our offense until 15 seconds to go. Our younger players made a lot of errors tonight. It was nice to have the seniors on the floor at times. Then Harmon stepped up late. This anxiety is not good for my health. We need to pound Stanford by 25 Sunday. I thought we had it 60-50 and missed three layups on one possession and then they hit a 3. Then it seemed in seconds it was a 1 point game. My oh my.

So much fun to watch Creighton beat Iowa State at its own game!

Iowa State has been the most over-rated team all season long. Lost pretty much every "tough" game they played -- LSU, Texas (3x), Baylor (2X), and now "10-seed" Creighton.

Second year in a row that Texas will be the last Big 12 team standing in the post-season. :D

All hail the great and powerful J A T :hookem2:

If I’m not mistaken, she put us on her shoulders last year too! (Edit: along with Charli )

Ok. Very glad we won. Good game. Texas Fight. Blah. Blah. Blah.

The first and fourth fouls against Rori were complete bulls*it calls. Pathetic for officiating this deep in the tournament.
:soapbox:

Taking the lead back 37-36 for good at the 6:38 mark of the 3rd quarter and withstanding all the OSU runs showed this team's resiliency and composure; yes, some mistakes. But, never lost the lead after that.

Those were really bad calls. I guess the silver lining is Rori only played 22 minutes and that’s about the only way she could get rest during a tournament game. She’s going to really need her legs against Stanford. Was glad to see Maryland make them work when it looked like a runaway game for awhile.

Down 3 points with 10 seconds left in the game, I did not understand why Sheldon penetrated half-way inside the 3-point line when they had to have a 3-pointer to tie the game. McGuff stated that they were gonna try a pass to the opposite side (to Mikesell) for a 3 point shot. But, I guess Rori's tight defense on Sheldon did not allow that pass, and Mikesell was covered tightly by Joanne out on the perimeter. We played perfect defense against their designed play. Ohio State not having a timeout left and the ability to advance the ball meant they had to go the length of the court in 10 seconds; tough situation to be in for them, but great for us!

The answer: Vic. No one gets more out of his players and develops his players than Vic.

Two national championship appearances with ZERO McDonald's All-Americans.

Earlier McGuff called a timeout just a few seconds before what would have been a TV timeout. My group watching the game was like “WTH? He’s going to regret burning that timeout.” Boom. When he needed it most, it was already gone. You never know where the game is gonna take ‘ya!

You have to include the mystery offensive foul on Sheldon and what could have been Harmon's 5th foul on that inbounds play. It all evens out.

We're all too familiar with at least one of the members of that officiating crew... She's brutally bad and the other two aren't much better. As soon as I saw them I was thinking to myself, "How in the hell does this crew get to call regional games?!" Oh well... survive and advance.

I think our young kids were feeling the nerves obviously... Glad we got that one out of the way. IMO we have nothing to lose now, so hopefully we'll loosen up and play our best game against Stanford. We'll need it...
