Riots in Minneapolis

Being an internet <fill in the blank here> really opens up the possibilities on expertise in various fields. I, for one, am very excited.

Even internet white thrash? Asking for a friend.
It's funny how internet white trash and rednecks are never mentioned when talking about groups of people who don't have the same opportunities, supposedly, as country club white folks. I guess white trash and rednecks still rank higher in the no opportunity hierarchy.

Looking at the various vids it is clear even with handcuffs the 6'6 230 lb Floyd continued to fight. As the training expert for the state testified when someone continues to struggle police are trained to physically subdue a suspect for their and his safety.
If people watched the actual testimony of real cops instead of relying on media opinions maybe they wouldn't make such stupid remarks

Nonsense.

Watch the video again:

Floyd is put on the ground at 11:32
Floyd stops talking and stops moving at all around 16:20
Chauvin keeps his knee on his back/neck all the way until the 20:55 mark

Why would you not put handcuffs and leg cuffs on him and get off? Most chronic drug users don't have great personal hygiene.

Did those cops really like laying on top of George Floyd for that long?

If I was those cops, I'd cuff him and get off, the last thing I'd want to do is lean on top of him for that long
You CLEARLY have not been involved in the restraining of aggravated felons. If you truly believe that cuffing and leg irons means they are 'subdued' then you haven't been in a position to see what they are capable of doing when so motivated.

AH, perhaps you will pontificate as to why the prosecutor punted entirely the claim during opening statements about the knee on the neck being involved in ANY manner with the death...

After all, you would THINK the chief prosecutor would have followed the narrative being established by people like you...but...they didn't.

If that's your definition then I'm sure you had no problem with what happened to Rodney King. After all, that bastard just wouldn't stay down, would he? I'm sure he must have deserved that beating in your mind because he wouldn't stay "subdued"

The knee to the neck argument is mostly a red herring.

If I cuff you, put you face down and drive my full weight with my knee into your back while restraining your legs, you will stop breathing just as easily as if I put my knee on your neck in the same position.

Based on what I've seen that doesn't mean Chauvin was trying to murder him. There were many factors going on. There was a crowd yelling at them. There was Floyd who had been screaming constantly from excited delirium and had been resisting arrest. By the time he wasn't struggling, Chauvin might simply have been relieved. He might have thought he had passed out. There was an angry mob. He wasn't going to follow instructions from a yelling mob. He was going to maintain his position of control until the paramedics arrived. In that moment of time with everything going on, I just can't sit here and say Chauvin "murdered" Floyd knowing everything else.

Maybe they can get a manslaughter charge but murder, no way. Not according to US law. We can't draw a legal conclusion based on a cell phone video and mob outrage because people THINK it was a murder.

Thank you for admitting that you have never been involved in the restraint of an aggravated felon nor seen first-hand what someone the size of St. Floyd of George is capable of doing even after restraints have been applied.

There's no evidence that Chauvin drove his knee with full force. How do you measure the force from a video? The visual alone is not evidence that he was applying fatal force.

If I drink 8 solo cups of trashcan punch loaded with everclear within a 30 minute period I will be fine for a time but guess what... probably within the next 30 minutes I'm gonna be hit hard and probably pass out shortly there after whether there's an officer on me or not.

But he has clearly spoken to every ER doc in the US in order to determine how he died. He's an internet doctor, lawyer, and cop all in one.

One of the other cops asked Chauvin if they should move him to his side and Chauvin responded with an emphatic no. This was AFTER Floyd had become unresponsive.

I dont think it was murder either, but IMO it's clearly reckless and qualifies for manslaughter.

If the jury finds him not guilty of murder but convicts on manslaughter, I think that's reasonable.

What's NOT reasonable is for this guy to walk on all charges. When I say that, I'm sure others will say "you're not on the jury so you're not allowed to have an opinion" but that's ********. I don't need to be on the OJ Simpson jury to know that verdict was ********. I don't need to be on the Casey Anthony jury to know that verdict was ********. Same thing for this case.

Who cares? The experts in the crowd were telling him how to do his job. Isn't that enough?

You're certainly allowed to have an opinion and manslaughter seems like the only real plausible charge he can be convicted on.

Have you been watching the trial?

One of the experts pointed out that there are excerpts from the video that shows both of Chauvin's boots lifting off the ground while squatting on Floyd, therefore putting his full weight on the neck/chest area.

I have been watching the trial but certainly not all day every day. How long were Chauvins heels off the ground and in this position?

I definitely think Rodney King deserved that beating.

If you want to see what a person can do while on PCP, here's a little example:

Capital murder charges filed in Bellville massacre
Houston Chronicle
Jan. 20, 2010, 5:24PM

BELLVILLE — Prosecutors today filed capital murder charges against an Austin County man accused of decapitating his 2-year-old niece while massacring five members of his family last weekend.

“This is one of the most horrific crimes we've had in Austin County,” District Attorney Travis Koehn said. He said he plans to present the case against 20-year-old Maron Thomas to a grand jury next week and then decide whether to seek the death penalty.

Thomas was arrested early Sunday morning after being caught breaking into a home while naked, sheriff's investigators said. Later that afternoon, he told deputies in the jail about the killings in his family's home between the communities of Buckhorn and Cochran, said Texas Ranger David Maxwell. Officers were on their way to the house when relatives, concerned that the family had missed church services, stopped by to check on them and discovered the bodies. All died from gunshot wounds, authorities said.

The dead were identified as Thomas' mother, Debra Phearse Washington, 54, and her husband, George T. Washington, 69; Thomas' siblings Kiana Shree Phearse, 25, and Cedric Thomas, 19; and Thomas' niece, 2-year-old Khalilah Masse-Chambers. Contrary to previous reports, authorities said today there was no evidence that Kiana Phearse was pregnant. Her daughter's head had been severed with a machete, authorities said.

Cedric Thomas' body was found outside the home, as were a handgun and a shotgun, according to investigators.

Thomas remains jailed with bond set at $1 million.

Authorities did not discuss what motive Thomas might have had for the killings.

“It appears that a domestic dispute occurred the night of the murders, but a motive for the killings remains unclear,” said sheriff's Sgt. Paul Faircloth.

Let me guess. They're all Black. CNN and MSNBC must be pissed.

You are indeed entitled to your opinion - but you're not on the jury, and their opinion is the one that matters.
More critically, they are the ones tasked with the actual review of everything introduced into evidence...and with making assessments of credibility.

Chauvin, under the law, does not have to prove ANYTHNG! The mainstream media conveniently forgets to mention that on a very regular basis, which is how we get so many idiots that want to simply flail about with their 'just watch the video' nonsense...

^ you can bet Chauvin's attorney knows or will find out.
I found this amazing
:" Derek Chauvin’s lawyers found a “speedball” pill with George Floyd’s DNA in the ex-cop’s Minneapolis squad car — months after it was seized and searched by police, testimony at Chauvin’s murder trial revealed Wednesday.

Minnesota forensics scientists said the pill contained traces of fentanyl and methamphetamine when it was tested at the request of Chauvin’s defense team, which found it during a fresh search of the squad car in January.

The car had been sealed since police first searched it on May 27 — two days after Floyd’s police custody death — and with the items inside photographed but not tested.
But Anderson said the pill was among several “irregular-shaped” items that appeared to be chewed-up pills found in the back seat of police vehicle 320 — Chauvin’s vehicle.

The state’s lead investigator, James Reyerson, testified earlier on Wednesday that law enforcement officials were present at the time defense lawyers re-opened the vehicle.

“The defense would not have access if you weren’t there,” Chauvin attorney Eric Nelson noted while questioning Reyerson.

Both the police vehicle and Floyd’s Mercedes Benz SUV were seized, searched, and photographed two days after the deadly incident.

Both were kept sealed and locked up at a secure state location.

So in summary:

1) George Floyd was arrested approximately one year before his death where he resisted arrest, called out for mamma, and swallowed pills in an attempt to conceal them from the police. He was taken to the hospital due to extremely high blood pressure.

2) Floyd is hospitalized for an OD two months before his death.

3) The day of his death he appears to have swallowed pills. Drugs containing fentanyl, meth, and Floyd's DNA were found in the back of the police car. Blood test reveals fatal levels of fentanyl, meth, and positive for Covid.

Chauvin’s superiors have NOT been supportive. That’s typically not the case. They try to leave wiggle room. They didn’t do much of that.

They don't want the masses mobbing and destroying their homes. The job they do is ALREADY challenging enough without the Burn Loot Murder crowd infecting the neighborhoods where the supervisors live...

Or they’re under oath and telling the truth.

One question I wish could be asked of the MPD
How the hell did you miss half chewed speed balls in both the police car and the drug dealer's SUV?
