Riots in Minneapolis

I know this is somewhat off topic, but the NYC bail-reform proposal that was shot down probably would have eliminated this.

Under current law, judges place a large emphasis on the defendant's ability to post bail. A poor defendant in exactly the same circumstance would be held pending trial, but the rich lawyer with rich friends walks free.

Under the proposed law, bail would not be a factor in the judge's decision. If a sufficient showing is made that the defendant presents a substantial risk to the community or is a flight risk, the defendant would be held pending trial. Absent such a showing, the defendant would be released. That standard would apply equally to all defendants, rich or poor.

I've never understood why bail should play any role in the hold-or-release decision. It should all be about safety.

The Left has declared war against the Country, the right and the Constitution. This isn't about some guy killed unjustly by cops, this is about forcing their views on this country. If you don't agree they will take your life, freedom and life.

Worst part is the left leaders are pushing this agenda and giving them the green light. Law enforcement arrests them and they bail them out. They don't give a crap about Floyd, this is their revolution, well it's time for the right to protect the constitution, innocent life and our rights.

10 yrs ago I would have thought a post like yours was pure craziness

As time goes on, it's not far fetched at all. Almost spot on actually

You know who gives zero craps about Floyd? Our President. I care about Floyd as much as i care about Austin Bill or Deez or that Aubrey kid in Georgia.

Btw, this article I'm sharing makes a point many of us bring up here that racism isn't always the deciding factor when it comes to police brutality.. This white man's story of being killed by the police is very similar to George Floyd and I never heard of this story until now. Please. Denying that police brutality against black people doesn't exist is part of why we are where we are. If we would have just listened to Kaeperkeck and maybe started to try to change the culture we wouldn't be here.

I didn't say it doesn't happen. I'm saying it's rare and to say that police brutality is a major societal problem is a joke. How many unarmed blacks were killed by police last year? A grand total of nine. Meanwhile in reality blacks are killing each other in the thousands every year. Which problem do I think we need to tackle? The more logical choice. Liberals like you is why the black community can't progress because you can't see the forest for the trees.

Floyd should not have been treated that way and I believe it caused his death despite the Fentanyl, Meth, heart disease and Covid found during his autopsies.

The media painting him as this noble security guard is misleading. He had a long and violent criminal history including a 5 year prison term for an assault and armed robbery. No he should not have been treated that way by the officer, but he was no angel citizen.

One year ago, I might have thought it was true but I didn't have any credible acts to say it out loud. I've always believed that most people are inherently good and we are all just trying to make it through this life as best we can.

What I've been watching over the last week is some horrible things but also some inspiring things that prove there is still some humanity out there.

With that said, Leaders from the DNC are pushing this narrative, they are telling us it's okay to kill, loot and destroy, while also bailing out these animals.

ANTIFA is a terrorist group and needs to be put down, our country is filled with traitors and now the chickens have come to roost. I hope our citizens will come together to put a stop to this violence and destruction but it is apparent that they only respect force so bring them force.

Ever notice that the people getting attacked are alone and the attackers are many hiding in the mob, getting their shots in. They are cowards and will not face a person face to face, they like to come up behind someone and attack like a coward.

I have no respect for people like this.

More correctly, it was Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, with him serving about 4.5 years of the five year sentence. That tells me he was a problem child within TDCJ since the initial review would have occurred after half of the sentence was served.

I've been tempted to request the Minutes but I suspect that they are locking the file down like after Karla Faye's execution when some materials were released. My guess is that the first vote was a denial with a one-year Next Review date. Multiple year set-offs are not common on a short sentence, even with a protest. That gets him to 3.5 years. Another denial. Then, the release with about six months remaining to get SOME manner of supervision. Of course, by that point, they could not condition the release upon the completion of an in-prison drug program which SHOULD have been done given his history of arrest for drug possession...

4 cops a black a white a brown and a yellow killed a black man. That is a whole rainbow of racist cops.

I can only control my actions, maybe if we just open up with real bullets on the looters and ANTIFA these cowards would crawl back into their hole. This isn't a police problem, they have proven they are unwilling and unable to control our community. We as citizens need to protect each other and and use deadly force if necessary.

Don't forget the background of five out of the six in Atlanta...amazing how quickly THAT story seems to have died off once their pictures were made public.

The left does not care about black officers, something made painfully clear with the assassinations of the federal officer in Oakland and the retired Captain in St. Louis. If it goes against the narrative, then they were simply eggs broken in the course of the omelet preparation...

I'm not saying publicly where I live. But I will say my 20 year old daughter was sent a post on Instagram 36 hours ago. The kid said all white families in the area where I live should die. They have 100 Antifa members gunning for White Families in my area. They even spray painted threatening graffiti on the back of fences in a neighborhood near mine. And it is a nice neighborhood. Well......lucky for me we had just bought a large box with 2,000 rounds of assorted ammo from www.cheaperthandirt.com. Yesterday I bought a Glock 43X and an extra clip for my wife's Glock 26.
Bring it!!!!!!! We ready!!!!!

And of course the Daniel Shaver video that's already been posted, but this is heartbreaking.

Hopefully nothing comes to fruition but glad to hear you are properly prepared.

I have an office near downtown Houston. Mom actually asked this morning whether I have been carrying my gun...I haven't been but was definitely considering it, especially Monday and Tuesday. I didn't ask but I was half-curious whether she was just wanting to make sure it was available if she needed it (I spend time at the house when I am in the Houston office).

It’s my understanding that Antifa is in contact with their hacker buddies doing IP tracing to find out addresses, then pass them along. You might want to buy more ammo. A lot more. :smile1:

Now here's an intelligent response to the rioting. LA is going to cut 100-150 million from the police budget and invest it in "communities of color, women, etc.". Ha,ha, ha, good luck with that LA.

LA Officials Push To Cut Police Budget By Up To $150M After Riots

There are parts of that city that white people can't walk, or maybe even drive around in, safely in daylight. Years ago, I got off an elevated freeway in downtown LA to get some gas and got lost. I couldn't figure out how to get back on the freeway that was over my head. Finally I saw a Catholic priest walking on the sidewalk and stopped to ask for directions. The first words out of his mouth were, "You shouldn't be here!" . Luckily he gave me exact directions to get back up on the freeway.
