What % of the high profile sports high profile players will get endorsements?
Will Nike Under Armour etc cut back on what they give schools? Will it affect the non revenue sports?
The boosters of many major programs will likely take it upon themselves to have important players star in tv, radio, online, and billboard commercials for companies owned and/or controlled by boosters.

A Freshman who is redshirting may not sell many burgers, cars, working interests in oil wells, or insurance policies, but he'll get plenty of endorsement $$$ from companies owned by boosters. Thinking through all this, it could easily end up as one big sham.

And now for a commercial break on Mid-South Pro Wrestling: "This is Mattress Mac, and some Freshman lineman at UH you've never heard of, and we've got some incredible deals now on new dressers and mattresses!!!"

Could you imagine the incentives with the transfer portal and the selling of how much endorsement $$$ a player could make with X State U, if he would just jump ship? Just pull out the endorsement stat sheet--"Linebackers at X State U made an average of $20,000 each in endorsements, while at your current school only half the linebackers even got an endorsement and those that did averaged only $1,500."

The bright side of all this is that it clearly favors The Joneses, like us.

If caps are placed on endorsement $, you can bet the OUs, aTm's, UHs, and SMUs out there will break the rules.

If any winds get behind this Cali deal and it becomes rule....talk about inviting all sorts of non-desirable, abusive, and unlawful practices...for a sport that already struggles with such shenanigans.

You're just focusing on FB. Look at the problems BB's had over the last few years. talk about the cesspool getting deeper.

I would like to know how many three-and-outs that we have this season. I think we are doing pretty well in that department.

Not sure...but I know we are tops in Big12 on 3rd down conversion% and high percentile nationally.

With what Rojo has accomplished under those circumstances and if he has further Great accomplishments down the road he will be considered an all time fan favorite. Just sayin.
However, my gut tells me he won't be playing QB, but if he is ever called upon to quarterback the team something tells me he will be ready.

Yeah Texas Longhorn great and all that but as obnoxious as Sammy Allred. Jeff's rants were as annoying as Sammy's "gotta build a road to nowhere for the damn yankees moving in".....wonder what led to his firing.....

I had a hard time because I agreed with many of his takes but wanted to disagree because he was such an ***. I listened to the show on and off for probably about 8-10 years, but I stopped listening about 5 years ago. He seemed to progress down the path of being more and more frustrated because everyone else is an idiot which caused him to be more and more unbearable. They just dont fire the host of the #1 show to shake things up. I'm guessing as the sale of the station was going on he threw down some sort of arrogant ultimatum.

Stopped listening when I left Austin in 2005. He was good when he could laugh at a situation that irritated him. Maybe he did that less.

A friend sent me a link to the entire writings of Mr Murphy. While I generally don't agree with players dumping this crap publicly, doesn't seem he has anything to lose. With his injuries, he ain't going to the NFL, and it isn't like Third Ward alums were ever going to give him a job unless he wanted to wait tables for Tillman.

Just the usual level of class we've seen coming out o the Third Ward for five decades.

I note that his Cougar High education also hasn't taught him the difference between "apart" and "a part".
