Random Off-Season News

The reason they're waiting a few days is to address any players debating on entering the NFL Draft or portal by the Wednesday deadline.
I heard an interview with Belichick earlier today where he said it’s a dead period until Thursday. Do you know if that applies to transfers or only HS recruits?

So basically, we'll have Goosby play one of the tackle positions, probably a portaller on the other one, and the middle of the OL will be Hutson - Robertson - Campbell. Not our worst OL of the last decade, but surely not our best either.

If he hires Deion it will be just another opportunity for those of us who used to love the Cowboys and now hate them to continue our maniacal laughter at him and his franchise for the continued arrogant and idiotic decisions that will keep their "middle of the pack is the best we can hope for" position intact.

Wow - how's that for a run-on sentence...

What has Jerry's leadership done for Dallas? Is it now 28 years and only one playoff win in that span? Are my numbers off a bit?
They were off. Dallas has won all of 5 playoff games since the last Super Bowl victory, which followed the 1995 season.

So 5 wins in 29 years. Why is ANYBODY still a fan of Jerry's pathetic franchise?

Another wrinkle that people need to consider about the entire Jones clan is that the potential for it to get "better" if/when Jerry hands over the reins to Stephen et al just doesn't make sense. Stephen is already like 15 years older than Jerry was when he took over the Cowboys.

The entire family cares more about Forbes valuations, building the stadium oriented to the SW so it wouldn't have to face a Walmart, and whether the artwork was mentioned on the broadcast than football wins or secret love children.

Good question. Another is why anybody should even care or pay attention to them anymore, including on bulletin boards like this one? The Cowboys have been a mediocre team and non-factor in the NFL for a couple of decades plus now and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

Baker should be seeing the field too.

Great question, Sangre. As long as Jerry thinks he knows football and wants to be the GM, the Cowboys will remain mired in mediocrity. Jerry is a superb businessman. As a GM, he is four steps below atrocious. It will be interesting to watch the hiring of Mike's replacement as HC. There are several up-and-coming young coordinators who aspire to HC - but which of them would risk his long-term future by working for a GM who tinkers constantly with the football operations? IMO, the Cowboys will end up hiring some NFL retread who wants a few more years in the spotlight before retiring. And thus mediocrity will continue - and continue - and continue. :brickwall:

I would wait till after the portal period is over with before trying to project a possible lineup.
Some changes are coming.
