Raid on Trump's home

I don't doubt that there was a real issue with the documents. I just don't buy that it's the real motivation behind the raid. It doesn't pass the smell test.
If he returned documents that were labeled "Top Secret" but the official records people say there are more AND you have an informant telling you where they are don't you think that's reasonable? I mean if we're following the rule of law.

If so, why are we just now hearing about it?
Dude. That's why the article from Rolling Stone has a date of 2/10/22. To highlight that this is not something "new". I've known about it. But, I don't watch Faux News and see updates on Hillary's emails.

If Hillary Clinton had been indicted, then I would agree.

Bubba,

Think about what you would do. Costa Rica is a nonextradition country, as are Panama & Brazil. You have your own jet. Cayman has no place for storage. You've had months to retrofit a place in Costa Rica (I trusted Martinelli, but not the new guy in Panama). Offshore LLC purchases building for storage. US has no authority nor ability to seize. I submit to you that all that is in Florida is what Trump wants "found" or what the democrats planted. He will run again, likely win, and paybacks are hell.

If he runs: if he gets nominated and wins, do some states rush the exits? How many would care if NY and NE wanted to leave?

First of all, don't Dude me. (Stole that from the Ticket in Dallas) :smile1: Second, In my opinion Rolling Stone is not a legitimate journalistic source. The date of the article is not important. The important part is can you trust the source? Unnamed sources do not make a story legitimate. I do not trust everything I see and hear. I try to do my own research.

Ok dude. Anyone who trusts a fox property should cling to the journalistic ethics of a Rolling Stone.

Not sure what that means. I did not mention FOX News. Congrats dude you win. Happy? I am done. No point in arguing with a Sooner or a fool. Not sure if there is a difference.

I'm not arguing with anyone. All I was doing was responding to your inquiries/ridiculing. But hey, keep on being a douche.

"including documents at the “top secret” level, according to two people familiar with the matter."

Are you aware of how many of these anonymous source MSM stories end up not being real?
Bubba doesn't care...he heard it on MSDNC or XiNN so therefore it was true.

What is sad is that there is much of the ill-informed and non-thinking electorate like him that vote. They lap up whatever crap is spewed and come back begging for more, completely ignoring that what just occurred IS the real threat to democracy that they have been whining about for months on end...

My television won't go to MSNBC or Faux. I've spent 2 minutes on CNN in the last 7 days. I vote to cancel out fools like you.

So you admit to being an ill-informed voter.. That IS the first step...your admission. Now you can seek help for your mental health condition...

The only reasonable response from conservatives is to abolish the FBI. If not, it is just a matter of time until they come knocking on your door.

Yep, I'm there now. Five years ago, I gave the "career agents" the benefit of the doubt, and I'm sure plenty of them are conscientious people. However, they made me look like a dumbass too many times. It's pretty clear that the leadership is ****, and it's more than just the director. Everybody with meaningful authority is a partisan assclown. It's time for the agency to go.

Honestly, the best thing for the Dem nominee is for DJT to run. Probably not the best for our republic.

Yep. That's why they hyped up and supported Trumpist ******** in the primaries against politicians who showed balls and voted to impeach Trump. It just shows that the in worries about "democracy" are ********.

They’re not the ones primarying anti trump GOP officials. That’s like blaming sheep for being eaten by coyotes.

Is there any justification for him to have classified materials?
Not every instance of mishandling classified material warrants execution by firing squad. There is a spectrum with the vast majority of cases akin to speeding at 40mph in a 35mph zone.

Example - at the Secret classification level, intelligence/military professionals accidentally take job related notes in their notebook and take home in their messenger bag not realizing it was classified. E.g. a student pilot wants to study jet engine procedures (unclassified) at home and writes his notes and accidentally writes down secret radar information he also needs to study for not realizing it was classified. That happens all the time.

At the Top Secret level where information is all kept in a special facility (a building, or a
wing of a building, or room) people often accidentally bring back home TS materials just because carelessness is inevitable. You literally could have had a birthday party in a SCIF where your colleagues give you a cake and a card and a Top Secret piece of paper is accidentally stuck to your birthday card.

There are scenarios where people take materials home where the classification is not clear and or debatable/subjective. Example - radio call signs, someone who needs to study them may come up with a seemingly meaningless pneumonic and write it down to study at home. If you’re the President I bet there are many conversations you have with people (staff and foreign officials) and you take reminder notes not thinking anything of it because you have to rush to cut a ribbon somewhere that some pimply faced analyst at the CIA (or an FBI agent/Democrat donor) would say is classified. By that threshold every National Security/DoD official or Navy SEAL who wrote a book could be investigated.

All of these are violations - but none of these are serious and it happens. That’s doesn’t even speak to the broader discretion a President (as the nation’s ultimate classification authority) would have in handling classified materials - especially those of personal nature. For example, a POTUS’ own personal health records, maybe he wanted to keep for a memento such as his daily itinerary card (classified) from a special day such as his inauguration or a State visit. These would be classified items. I think this is pretty common for Presidents and no one makes a big case over it. Additionally, Trump still has a security clearance and Mar A Lago would have been certified as a SCIF.

It seems the Media is also conflating “Presidential Records” with classified materials.

What would get you jail time is having an unauthorized server to handle thousands of classified emails (Clinton) and stuffing your socks with Top Secret memos on Al Qaeda (Sandy Berger - Clinton’s National Security Advisor).
