Bit of a retraction: Nothing personal against OUBubba. He is a Sooner and we all have our faults. If he was my neighbor, we would probably get along outside of football and election times. Swear to God, however, criticize my vegetable garden and it is on.

LOL. I don't like the people primarying them either, but you all called the people who voted to impeach courageous and of course call yourselves the defenders of democracy. You don't see how it damages your credibility to help defeat those courageous people and risk their congressional seats going to people you would consider threats to democracy?

He said he doesn't go to FOX, MSNBC or CNN. That does not make him ill informed. It does suggest he is cautious about where he gets his 'NEWS" and realizes that screaming idiots on those channels are in for ratings so they can make more money off advertising----as opposed to calm, careful, dispassionate and intelligent opinions. Like from Alex Jones or Keith Olbermann or someone of a higher level of intelligence. (sarcasm).

IF I meet someone who watches any of those channels more than five minutes a day i pretty much discount their opinions.

He all but admitted that he votes against any common sense candidate...that he will discount anyone I might consider for no reason other than I was considering that candidate tells me he is a low-information ill-informed voter.

It is no different than the people that discount DeSantis because he told a kid he didn't have to wear a mask.

Well, DeSantis is a bully, ya know.

And, it is like discounting someone because of what the media tells you about them and not the policies and good times that were being had. Who among the electorate has to be around any politician? But, how many now suffer because so-called mean tweets were too much for them?
 
Just for laughs, think about this: what young person now paying any attention to what is going on and listening to the level of discourse in the land would even consider going into politics? I sometimes wonder if the low level of politicians now might be attributable to the events of 1968-74. After watching that zhit show, how many of us old timers now, young folks then, said "no thanks, I think I will find some other way to waste my life?"

As I look at my career now, I remain generally content with my decision to reject an offer from Georgetown that was given even prior to high school graduation (yeah, I was one of those top-tier PSAT geeks).

I was up there during the '84 national election but I cannot imagine spending the better part of the next 40 years up there.

Who knows...I may never have even gotten INTO poker or other casino-type stuff had I not stayed in Texas.

Worse...I would have had decent basketball, but no meaningful football...AND would have been surrounded by Redskins fans. That would be even more insufferable than tolerating land thieves.
 
I think in a way the raid was brilliant.
The one thing the Dems do best is campaign against Trump and this move (intended or not) goes a long way towards guaranteeing they will run against him in ‘24. My money is on Gavin Newsom being their candidate and I don’t see Trump beating him.

Edit: It should be noted that I didn’t see Trump beating Clinton or Biden beating Trump either.

If GruesomeNewsom runs, the campaign ads write themselves...videos from LA and SF, videos of blackouts, videos of wildfires from the State's mismanagement, funding of illegals, costs of living being skyhigh...and the list goes on.

Newsome? He is not well liked in California, much less the rest of the country. I would welcome his running on crime, Covid and guns. He would be a unifier.
