President Biden Accountability Thread

I vehemently disagree when other viable forms of energy are in the market that this is a risk my family needs to accept.

There aren't though. If you didn't have oil&gas energy you would freeze to death in the winter.

Let's be clear. Everything we are talking about right now has a future lens. Nobody is "freezing" right now and the only area with significant brownout challenges is California. Nobody has proposed elimination of oil and gas immediately. In fact, I haven't seen any clamor for natural gas elimination at all.

Not viable alternative energy? Texas is using wind today for 15.7% of it's electricity needs. Washington State is approaching 20%. Both have some of the lowest electricity rates in the country, recognizing WA is helped by our hydropower production.

One of the best movies ever made.

I say tax Amazon to death. They need to pay their fair share along with lawyers, Sooners, and pilots. Just leave Healthcare out of it because errbody needs healthcare.

I know who helped me with home delivery during the pandemic and it wasn't the Democrats. They truly make me sick.

This Biden tax plan could make Amazon pay taxes but complicate things: expert

Honestly, I'm not sure it's that terrible. It looks like basically a corporate alternative minimum tax. Personally, I think AMTs are dumb. I also think that corporate office taxes in general are dumb. They're just a hidden tax on individuals designed to make stupid people think we're "stickin' it to the Man" when we're really just stickin' it to everybody who does business with that corporation.

Having said that, if we're going to have AMTs and corporate income taxes, I'm not sure why you'd levy AMTs on my individuals but not corporations.

They aren't freezing because of oil & gas. California has brownouts because they are pushing wind and solar. You don't have to eliminate to have big problems like California. Californians pay 2xs more for electricity than in the rest of the US.

Then you aren't looking. There is a concerted effort between governments and corporations to end all oil & gas use, some by 2030, some by 2050.

I guarantee you those aren't real numbers. Maybe for an hour here or there that was the case. Denmark had a day where they produced 110% of demand through wind. That doesn't mean it is viable. That is because it is intermittent. A rule of thumb is that wind and solar produce about 10% of capacity. That means it costs 10xs more than advertised and 10xs more turbines/panels are needed. That translates into about 100xs the land use of oil & gas, 10xs the amount of material mined out of the ground per KWh.

Unless there is a huge breakthrough in wind or solar, it isn't viable in terms of providing power for our country. Acting like it is, is a myth.

Wind/solar do have applications where they make sense. But not to provide electrical power on a societal scale.

I have to wonder then if this explains the eight large coach buses in front of the North Houston Army Reserve Center about a half-hour ago...

I saw some Ft Hood hardware rolling by on a train this week on their way to the Ship Channel

His new Treas Sect is already talking about "climate change'

This makes it a moral imperative and cancels any need to worry about the budget.

The new Georgia Senator said the federal budget was a moral budget. It means they have no braking mechanism. Print money. Spend it. The debt has been cancelled and is no longer to be considered.

We need to get the hell out while we still can
Not sure my city alone can withstand him

Ok let's see how well this ages. Where's Jim Acosta in the White House Press Room when you really need him? Peter Doucey needs to become a bigger prick and fast.

This would be major scandal under Trump particularly if Trump called them up to quell riots during the inauguration.

Didja know there are now more Roman Catholics in the cabinet than on the Supreme Court? Wonders never cease.

How ducking stupid do you have to be?

The seven-day rolling average of coronavirus vaccines administered to Americans is 914,000, according to the Bloomberg vaccine tracker, with 1.6 million doses administered on Wednesday alone. Biden’s plan calls for a million Americans to be vaccinated each day.

When asked by a reporter whether the goal to vaccinate one million people per day is not ambitious enough, Biden said that the goal was a “good start.”

“When I announced it you all said it wasn’t possible. Come on, give me a break, man,” Biden said
