Neither is remotely acceptable. I'll never understand those individuals mentally unstable enough to take actions to threaten a politician directly no matter the politician's party.
Still, 1/6 was a demonstrable attempt to disrupt our Constitutionally mandated process. This ordeal is an attempt to intimidate Rand Paul. Alas, threats against Senators/Congresspeople are not uncommon. The claim that they are comparable is diminishing the impact of 1/6 to absurd proportions.
What exactly was the "impact" of 1/6 other than AOC becoming more mentally unstable, and the Libs blowing the entire event way out of proportion to benefit them politically? The riots in Seattle and Portland and the resulting loss of life and property damage, the current border crisis, and the negative effects of Biden's attack on the hydrocarbon industry are truly impactful.
Imagine if AOC got the death threats that Rand Paul receives.
I do, one has the intent to injure someone, the other didn’t.

1. I would wager that AOC gets more.
2. It has been proven that the right wing nutjobs are much more dangerous than all other nutjobs. In the last 15 years right wing terrorism has done significantly more damage than the left or the jihadists in the USA.
They caused a lot of injuries for people who didn't intend to injure.

Which antifa murder are they talking about? The guy in Portland that murdered a Trump supporter (hey look! there's one over there) or the guy that killed David Dorn? Or maybe the mass murderer that shot and killed Hispanics in El Paso?

I believe there were no injuries. I can make that claim just as someone can say 140 injured and a death due to being hit with a fire extinguisher.
Anybody can claim whatever they want. However, I presume that the police department is telling the truth about employee injuries unless shown solid evidence to the contrary. I don't assume that every one of the injuries were bad. I'm sure most were minor, but 14 required hospitalization. Again, I assume that's true unless I'm shown otherwise.

It's not like we are quibbling about a handful of injuries. 140 policeman treated on-site, 14 hospitalized. There are literally thousand of videos of rioters attacking police. It's pure cognitive dissonance to ignore the evidence to infer that policeman weren't injured.
