Post-Trump GOP

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Within the Democratic Party, the far-left is the squeaky wheel - they squeak a lot and get press coverage, so the Party leaders have to appease them a bit to get them to stop squeaking. Meanwhile, the remaining centrists within the Party don't squeak as much as the far-left, so they don't get greased like the far-left.
Centrist democratx are learning what life has been like for Republicans since the days of Kennedy and LBJ.

Since today's media by and large mirrors the ideological mindset of the far left and hasn't a shred of integrity or principle, those freaks get favorable press no matter what they do. Meanwhile Dem centrists get negatively slanted coverage (especially in misleading headlines), lukewarm approval under only the very best of circumstances, and are generally treated like a leprous uncle who just audibly and wetly farted at the Thanksgiving table.

Honestly, though I think he has long wanted to be president, I don't think he was particularly interested in it at his age. I think he was enjoying his retirement and basically done. Jill Biden made comments to that effect a few years before he ran. Knowing that its younger base of candidates was a parade of freaks that couldn't win nationally, I think the Party begged him to run, and I think he did it reluctantly on the condition that he would delegate as much as he possibly could if he won. He delegated to guys like Ron Klain, who's obviously interested in appeasing and motivating the Party's left flank.
How very kind and oddly naive of you to say so. He likely was blackmailed into it or faced investigation and scandal and his son going down. And, to think that he has the cognitive ability, even before dementia, to delegate anything and elucidate any thoughts and policies is kind of funny.

Were you hacked?

This is how moderates are treated these days. We're going straight to hell.

Am I the moderate, or are you? Lol.
I think I'm a moderate Dem and you're a moderate Republican. Hell, you're pretty damned conservative but you didn't like the Trump kool-aid. That makes you a moderate even though, in principle, you're likely more conservative than the kool aid drinkers as they often have no actual principles. They'll be happy to screw themselves over to "own the libs".

To me, Arlen Specter and Chris Shays were moderate Republicans. I'm miles to the right of them.

The big thing is that I don't presume evil will very readily. The reason why I don't think Biden is badly intentioned but instead has delegated badly is that I'm relying on the past behavior of both Biden and those people. Biden has never been a conservative or even a moderate, but he has been a mainstream liberal. He didn't act like a nut. Ron Clain has been a Twitter goofball for years. The Administration broadly has been acting more like Ron Clain, especially on social and cultural issues.

Could Biden have become a hardcore social leftist in the last be few years? I suppose but not likely.

Gee I don't know but a long history of plagiarism, constant lying about events that did not happen (he lied Long before the dementia), many racist remarks and fondling little girls puts him in the category of acting like a nut for most people

When I say "nut" in this context, I mean on issues. I don't remember him ever being a social radical. Has he been a nut as a person? Yes.

Mr D
I think you are right. 30 years ago he wouldn't
But to be clear this Biden is not a sentient creature. Just a sad little puppet who is now being thrown under the bus by Rice, obama or whoever is in control

It's Ron Clain. He's a Twitter troll, and they basically govern like Twitter is the real world.

Keep in mind, that's WHILE Donald Trump is literally watching the assault on his TV. Nobody has disputed that timeline, not even Trump himself. He literally called Senator Tuberville WHILE they were being evacuated to plot their next step in the Electoral College delay. Again, nobody has disputed these facts.
Trump gave the Secretary of the Army full authority to deploy the National Guard. TDS is a terrible disease.
