OTHER GAMES

I realize nothing is going to convince anybody to change their view, one way or the other, but the fourth time he's hit on this set of replays is the clearest to me

That looks like a perfect form tackle to me. The crown of the helmet is not that little part right above the facemask. They make contact around the ear hole. If that’s anybody other than a qb that does not get called. That’s just my opinion. All in all it was a good game.

He could have hit the QB with the face mask up and achieved the same result without a penalty. But he wanted the big hard hurting hit using the top of his helmet.

So you don’t see the defender leading with the crown of his helmet? That’s classic targeting, and that’s why the officials came back with the call so quickly.
I see a chest to chest tackle by a smaller guy on a bigger guy. Very difficult for the bigger guys facemask not to hit the shorter guy's helmet.

i saw it from multiple vantage points every replay espn showed every view and it looked like a clean hit to me. Even in real time it looked like a solid hit. You have to remember Lawrence is like 6’6 that db is like 6 feet even maybe. He didn’t jump and lung at the guy now how is he going to make contact with the crown of his helmet to Lawrence’s helmet without leaving his feet? You think I’m just using that twitter link for justification I’m not, it was just the only video I saw posted that showed the hit at that time

Yes, totally agree that Lawrence ducked down right before the hit. But the NCAA has been consistent that doesn't matter. I personally don't like it as it's bitten us too, but that's the way it's been called all year. What does matter is if the defensive player ducks his head down which was pretty clear to me, replay ref, announcers, and replay ref hired by network. And in 2019 it has to be confirmed on replay not just let stand. So the call on the field has no impact on targeting anymore. Replay is the deciding factor. Stat I saw said targeting was down this year because of the rule changes. I will admit I was pulling for Clemson so maybe that jades my view. I think it's impossible to not have your own bias in these type of situations. We get training on unknown biases at work. Quite fascinating and more prevalent than one might think.

Regardless, that wasn't the only play tOSU blew. The ruffing the punter was just as big. They also let Clemson drive the length of the field for the winning TD, and threw the pic at the end. I still think tOSU was the better team but they didn't put Clemson away when they had their chances and that generally bites you in the ***. It's bad someone had to lose this one. They'll be having nightmares the rest of their life.

And to think I got drunk and went to bed in the 4th qtr and missed this ending. Well, I was 4-0 yesterday and moved up the pick rankings while OU and OSU lost. What a day!!!

Listening to Herbstreit break down that final interception play right after it happened, you know he was having sad Buckeye feelings inside but he did his job like a pro

I seem to recall another big post-season loss by aOSU to Clemson where a Clemson interception late in the game played a big part in the outcome of the game (and the history of the Bucks’ program). I think the coach got really mad, or something... Heh, heh, heh.

Easy, are you and BH trolling us?

That may be true but I believe that LSU’s offense is in a class by itself right now, and they could dominate Clemson on that side of the ball. In fact, I expect it.

tOSU’s D is excellent but Lawrence’s legs made the difference. I suspect that won’t be the case two weeks from yesterday. That, plus the threat of his running...

LSU should win big in two weeks and may get consideration as the best team of all time, even better than VY's championship team.
Who would win between our 05 championship team and this year's LSU team?

Its clear everyone here, myself included, just doesnt get what an honor it is to be 0-4 against the NC game teams. Just like none of us understand how aggy won those two conference titles in '97 and 2010. It is a failure on our part not theirs.
