OTHER GAMES

The PAC 12 is going to get a team in regardless. It might as well be Washington because that entirely eliminates a two-loss Oregon. There is a chance if Oregon wins by 3 tonight that Washington barely falks
“…falls.” There is really no reason to root for Oregon or against Washington. None.

If Washington wins they're an undefeated P5 conference champion. The committee picks them over our 1 loss conference champions *** all day long. Best path for us is FSU, Alabama, and Washington all lose. It's not complicated.
Same logic applies to Georgia-Alabama. We want Georgia to win because that eliminates a two-loss Alabama. If Alabama wins, then Georgia may not fall below us. This isn’t difficult to understand.

That's why I included Alabama losing along with FSU and Washington. I'm too old for this aggravation. Sometimes this board makes me hungry for a fistful of Xanax

If we want selection day to be drama free then we want FSU to lose and have as many undefeated and two-loss teams as possible. That includes Washington and Oregon.

I'll leave it at this. Georgia wins and FSU loses then winner of Washington/Oregon doesn't necessarily matter. Throw in a Michigan win the final 4 should be:
Georgia vs. Texas
Michigan vs. Oregon/Washington
Can't speak for anyone else but it's out my hands

Gosh I don’t think it’s that complicated. You have a hopeful senario. I’m try to avoid having to hope after the games. There will be some doubt if Oregon and/or Alabama win. That’s just a fact outside of burn orange country. The defending national champion who has also been #1 or #2 all season may not fall below us if they lose by 3 tomorrow. That’s a distinct possibility, and it’s not over complicating things to realize that.

no, alabama can't be put in ahead of us when we beat them by 10 at their place.
Come on get a grip.

It’s not me getting a grip. I believe we are better. It’s been proven. The concern is what the committee perceives. Rating Alabama higher than us may be reasonable to some if they win the SEC and beat the #1 team in the process. The reputation of the SEC is what it is, fair or not.

But either way someone from the SEC is going to be in the playoff. So the real concern if Alabama wins, isn’t Alabama going over us, it’s Georgia not dropping below us.

The committee is ***!!! Look at current game on TV.

Unfortunately, sometimes this is where a 3rd team true Freshman QB comes in, lights up the scoreboard, and looks like an All-American.

Line: Florida State -1.5

"Since the loss of quarterback Jordan Travis to injury, and now with questions around Tate Rodemaker after his concussion, much of the Seminoles' energy will be placed on owning the ground game. Luckily, Trey Benson is up to that task; Florida State's top back rushed for three touchdowns against Florida and is posting over 6 yards per carry this season. But the Cardinals are 15th nationally against the run and 3rd in red zone defense overall. If the Noles turn one-dimensional and the passing game breaks down, Louisville can take advantage quickly."

"Advantage at QB. That clearly belongs to Louisville, thanks to the play of transfer Jack Plummer, one of the top signal callers to change schools this season. The senior is hitting over 66% of his throws with 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions."

"A lot of the matchups here tilt slightly in Louisville's favor, especially without Jordan Travis on the field, and definitely if Rodemaker is limited or can't play. The Cardinals play a balanced offense and have the people at the line who can frustrate the Seminoles' ability to run the ball consistently.

Florida State is just finding ways to win. By leaning hard on its excellent pass defense, bringing its best game at the line of scrimmage and rushing the quarterback, and putting an emphasis on running the ball, the Seminoles can help create opportunities in the air with their superb skill threats to help out their inexperienced quarterback. But this is going to be very close."

DE – Ashton Gillotte – Louisville
1st Team All-ACC

CBS Mid-Season All-American
PFF All-American

Lives in the opponents' backfield. Tackles-for-loss and sack machine. Led the ACC in sacks and tackles-for-loss. Makes OTs look silly. Dominates the teams he plays. At one time, Gillotte led the Nation in QB pressures.

Fan-Sided:
"One of the best pass rushers in college football."

DT – Dezmond ("Dez") Tell – Louisville
Hon Mention All-ACC

Powerful interior DT. 'Squatty' build. Medium height (6'1"), big (290+lbs), very strong, very tough to block, good in pursuit. The "unsung hero" of a good Louisville defense. Eats up blocks/double teams. Draws and frequently splits, busts through, or otherwise beats the double teams Gets surge into opponents' backfields and collapses the pocket. Plenty of tackles-for-losses and some sacks. Holds the line on short yardage plays, and secures the interior of the trenches. A big part of a very good Louisville run defense.

If we don't make the final four, predictions were having us play Tulane in the Fiesta bowl. Since Tulane is losing, what would be the updated prediction?

A place known mostly for horse-racing, overly-sweet whisky, wooden baseball bats, and a legendary boxer, needs to come through on the gridiron tonight!

Assuming Michigan wins (they are up 10-0 early) then Washington and Michigan are in, leaving two spots.

Scenario 1- If FSU wins, they are in and I think the Committee has to choose between Texas and Alabama for the final spot. IMHO, Texas should go in because we beat Alabama (by 10 at their home field).

Scenario 2 - If FSU loses, then I think the Committee has to choose between Texas, Alabama, and Georgia for the final two spots. I could see the Committee putting Texas AND Alabama in (thereby avoiding that debate).

Not sure which scenario is better for Texas, but we have done what we can….
