Impeachment

Will Hurd needs to be put out to pasture
He should not be on this panel
This is on McCarthy (who hopes to one day become Speaker)

Castro is saying this is about why she got fired.
NO it most certainly is not.

Now Ratcliffe is asking about Obama and hunter biden

A part of the call transcript that came up today --

Trump: The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news and the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news so I just want to let you know that. […]

Zelensky: […] On top of that, I would kindly ask you if you have any additional information that you can provide to us, it would be very helpful for the investigation to make sure that we administer justice in our country with regard to the Ambassador to the United States from Ukraine as far as I recall her name was Ivanovich. It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough.

The prosector that Joe Biden famously bragged about personally getting fired is named Viktor Shokin. At the time, he had an an active investigation of Burisma and its founder.

" .... In a newly sworn affidavit prepared for a European court, Shokin testified that when he was fired in March 2016, he was told the reason was that Biden was unhappy about the Burisma investigation. “The truth is that I was forced out because I was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into Burisma Holdings, a natural gas firm active in Ukraine and Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was a member of the Board of Directors,” Shokin testified.

“On several occasions President Poroshenko asked me to have a look at the case against Burisma and consider the possibility of winding down the investigative actions in respect of this company but I refused to close this investigation,” Shokin added.

Shokin certainly would have reason to hold a grudge over his firing. But his account is supported by documents from Burisma’s legal team in America, which appeared to be moving into Ukraine with intensity as Biden’s effort to fire Shokin picked up steam.

Burisma’s own accounting records show that it paid tens of thousands of dollars while Hunter Biden served on the board of an American lobbying and public relations firm, Blue Star Strategies, run by Sally Painter and Karen Tramontano, who both served in President Bill Clinton’s administration.....
* * *

Today, two questions remain.

One is whether it was ethically improper or even illegal for Biden to intervene to fire the prosecutor handling Burisma’s case, given his son’s interests. That is one that requires more investigation and the expertise of lawyers.

The second is whether Biden has given the American people an honest accounting of what happened. The new documents I obtained raise serious doubts about his story’s credibility. And that’s an issue that needs to be resolved by voters."

The whole thing is worth the read Solomon: These once-secret memos cast doubt on Joe Biden's Ukraine story

Wouldn't this, "Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough." be enough to replace her?

He could replace her for any reason he wanted

It was not easy to get out of her but she finally admitted she was prepped by the Obama folks about issues with Hunter Biden and Burisma

Ratcliffe pressed Yovanovitch on Burisma/Hunter Biden. She bobbed and weaved but eventually admitted that the arrangement between the vice president’s son and a known corrupt Ukrainian company could pose a conflict of interest. Plus this \/

Deez, Jr. is in bed, so now it's time for the fun stuff. I can't say that it's all Trump's fault, but for whatever reason, since he became a major political figure, I just can't watch political material on TV without significant booze. Maybe it's because I just can't take it seriously anymore. Hard to say.

I don't get ****** drunk, but I need at least a little bit of a beer buzz (just enough that I wouldn't go drive a car) to sit through it.

From CNN:

Trump tweets attack on impeachment witness Marie Yovanovitch during her hearing. She called it 'very intimidating.' - CNNPolitics

"Trump tweeted as former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch's testimony was underway that "everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad,"

This is the vaunted witness intimidation tweet? Jesus Christ they stretch **** a long way...

From the same article:

"While Yovanovitch's testimony is not directly tied to the freezing of aid and dangling of a White House meeting amid a push for Ukraine to open investigations into Trump's political opponents, Democrats say her removal marks the start of the shadow diplomacy campaign that sparked their impeachment inquiry into Trump and Ukraine."

"Democrats say..." That's the crux of it. It's 100% political. What they SAY is not evidence. And what she is saying is NOT ON POINT.

The hearing is on tv down in the gym at work and I just saw her; what a sanctimonious person... it's so unbelievable that people respond positively to her.

Is GOP looking for better counsel?

They should be. I've watched Goldman and Castor. Putting politics and the agendas aside, Castor isn't bad, but he's definitely outclassed. Goldman is an ace. His questions are very well-delivered, and he has commanding presence. Both he and Castor are obviously partisan tools, but he's extremely good at what he does. Castor is a Steve Beuerlein. Goldman is a Troy Aikman.

The Republicans should have retained Trey Gowdy. Obviously, he's a partisan, but he's much better than Castor is. If not, they should have flown my beer-guzzling *** in. It would take a lot of prep for me to match Goldman's performance, but I could fall out of bed slightly hungover, scratch my nuts, and match Castor's.

Like I said, it's not entirely his fault. It's bigger than Trump. He hasn't helped, but the sanctimony and crusader-like self-righteousness of the Democrats is a big factor as well. It's just part of being politically homeless.

Speaking of booze, after downing a liter a of beer, I'm really craving one of those klobasnek (sausage kolaches) that they sell at the Czech Stop in West. I could get something similar in the Czech Republic, but that's a six-hour drive, and I have to pick up Mrs. Deez at the airport tomorrow. (She'd never let me watch this **** on a Friday night if she was here.)

This tweet by the President is being blown so far out of proportion. Really, are they going to make this whole clown show about a tweet? The desperation from the slime is ridiculous.

She’s smart. This **** is a sham, but even a bigger snooze.
