Anyone surprised by this?

"The Fragrance Foundation, a trade group for the perfume industry, paid former President Bill Clinton $260,000 to give a speech in January 2014 that lasted less than an hour.

In the months after the talk, the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation organized and partially funded an effort to get hundreds of farmers in Haiti to plant thousands of lime trees, a project designed to help both the impoverished farmers and the perfume and beverage industries, which had been hurt by a spike in lime prices caused by drought and crop blight.

The Clinton Foundation’s partner on the project was one of the world’s largest fragrance and flavoring suppliers, Firmenich International SA, along with the Swiss company’s U.S. charity. The Firmenich Charitable Foundation put up about $250,000 for the Haiti lime-tree project. Some of it went to a unit of the Clinton Foundation in Haiti and some to a charity recruited for the project that works with the Clinton Foundation in Haiti, records and interviews show.

Mr. Clinton’s $260,000 speaking fee wasn’t a donation to the foundation but was reported as personal income—an honorarium—on the candidate financial-disclosure form of his wife, Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee. The speech was one of 104 paid speeches that earned Bill and Hillary Clinton about $25 million in the 16 months before she launched her presidential campaign.

The timing of Bill Clinton’s speech income, from a perfume trade group in which a large member would later benefit from a Clinton Foundation project in Haiti, represents the kind of overlapping of private and charitable interests that has become a political liability for his wife as she runs for office. The Clinton Foundation has previously drawn attention for accepting donations from companies and foreign governments with business before the State Department when it was led by Mrs. Clinton........."

JF
Depends on the meaning of IS:facepalm:
As Bill explained it OF COURSE people who gave money to the Clinton Found expected something, DUH
Bill said he expected the State Dept ( of which his wife was the head) to do the right thing. :idk:

The evidence about Sid Blumenthal ("senior advisor" to Hillary's 2008 campaign) and the birth of the birther movement continues to roll in. This from lefty blogger Larry Johnson --

“I am shocked at the audacity of Hillary Clinton to decry Donald Trump as a birther because her campaign not only pushed that item in a bid to discredit Barack Obama, but mounted a sustained campaign attack Obama on a broad array of issues,....."

“How do I know? I was part of that effort and was in regular email and phone coordination with Sidney Blumenthal. Sidney was the conduit who fed damaging material to me that I subsequently posted on my blog,........”

Blumenthal provided “information concerning allegations that Barack Obama was not a natural born citizen … [and] being adopted by Indonesian Muslim Lolo Soetoro, .......”

"I know firsthand, and can testify under oath, that Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign was hot and heavy on the issue of Barack Obama’s muslim heritage. How do I know? Because I was a conduit for information from Sidney Blumenthal, a Hillary Clinton confidant. I was not an official part of the campaign. I was not on the staff. But I was a supporter and I have no regrets for trying to help Hillary defeat Barack Obama. I did not knowingly make up or manufacture anything about Barack Obama. Just tried to get the facts out....."

"Here is simple summary of material (in writing or through a verbal briefing) that I received from Sid?
1. Information surrounding the corrupt business relationship between Barack Obama and Tony Rezko.
2. Information about Barack Obama’s ties to Palestinian radicals.
3. Information concerning Barack Obama’s longstanding ties to the American terrorist, Bill Ayers.
4. Information concerning Barack Obama’s close ties to radical clerics–i.e., Jeremiah Wright .....
5. Information concerning allegations that Barack Obama was not a natural born citizen.
6. Information concerning Barack Obama being adopted by Indonesian Muslim Lolo Soetoro.

I learned this election that the media has a huge confirmation bias on their hands. They still think Trump made fun of a disabled reporter, whom he last met 27 years ago. Do you remember anybody from 27 years ago who wasn't family or like family?

This is a very interesting way to break down the data, and seems to reveal a lot. According to this chart, the North Carolina election is still well within the margin of undecided voters, who will ultimately decide which candidate comes out on top. Those undecided voters are disproportionately "moderate" or "somewhat liberal" -- two categories that otherwise skew heavily towards Clinton. Will that skew hold true for the undecideds? I guess we'll find out in about 6 weeks.

NYT says Hillary's Immigration plan would let in 37M more than Trump's

Cs5Wo_WXYAAnv3f.jpg:large

ECONOMIC SCENE SEPT. 20, 2016
By Eduardo Porter

"Under Mr. Trump’s anti-immigrant proposals, the American population would probably shrink to 323 million by 2024, about one million fewer people than today and 22 million fewer people than the Census Bureau’s projections for eight years from now.

There is another side to the story, too: With Hillary Clinton as the next president, the population of the United States is more likely to increase to 360 million in 2024, from 324 million today.

Of course, these disparate futures, estimated by Joseph Chamie, a demographer who once headed the United Nations Population Division, rely on a few assumptions. Mr. Trump would expel 11 million immigrants who are illegally in the country; Mrs. Clinton would legalize them. Future migration in a Trumpian America would fall to zero but would rise if Mrs. Clinton were president, as many newly legalized residents brought their families along.

The gap — 37 million people, more than a tenth of the population — underscores how powerfully immigration policy will shape the future of the United States."

The way I see it is Trump is crushing it with Rs, winning independents, while picking up 16% of Ds

I'd like to hear what they knew about no.4. Might 'splain some things.

It is 7 weeks to election day, and Hillary still has a very thin appearance schedule
Thus far, Hillary has cancelled more events in September than she has held.

Eduardo Porter is as disingenuous about Trump's views on immigration as some in here who keep trying to equate anti ILLEGAL immigration as anti all immigration.
That bs does not seem to work on most people. It may work on Hilary supporters who need to believe her lies.

I think this was an enormously stupid issue for Hillary to try to exploit, because even with the media completely pushing her narrative, it's very easy for him to change the subject to her doing the same thing she's accusing him of doing. Trump has said thousands of idiotic things over the years that she could have thrown at him with no chance of serious rebuttal, but instead she jumps on something that he could throw right back in her face. Very dumb.

Out of touch famous people from Hollywood, not one in that commercial who ever took an oath to serve and protect the Constitution and the people of the United States with their lives, just digging a bigger hole for Hillary with swing state voters.

They're smug and come across as unsympathetic and ignorant of what regular Americans deal and struggle with raising a family in today's world.

Great comment in that video that I just thumbs downed:
Is that what passes for a sick burn among liberals? NO U? Seriously? Here's one, at least Trump didn't get his millions from Saudi Arabian warlords and the Koch brothers like Hillary Clinton did, he got it from realestate development. Never thought I'd see the day when the Democrats were the ones sucking off a corporate shill criminal. Usually that's the Republicans' job.

Thanks for sharing. The few I did recognize - some were know addicts and others just hypocrites. Regardless, I will make sure I do not pay to watch anything they produce in the future. While I am at it, I refuse to watch pro football as well.
Mark Ruffalo tweets out nonsense like this, yet takes a nice paycheck to star in Michael Mann's Collateral (a superb movie btw).

I honestly don't think out of touch ultra Libs believe "Come and take 'em" is as serious of a devotion as it really is by millions of Americans.

I'm sure they believe in their bubble world that legal gun owners will bow to the new law after bitching for a while, and ultimately back down and relinquish their arms.

Then Libs will turn to the police (who they openly bash) to oppose the real criminal element who will keep their guns and have a new free reign to use on disarmed citizens.

What part of this does not compute to these clowns, "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Please, please revoke the right of the people to keep arms and order all individually owned firearms to be surrendered or removed from previously legal owners.

All hell would break loose and the government would be squarely in the crosshairs.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't even think Cobie Smulders, while hot, is even an American citizen or holds dual citizenship.

She's Canadian.

:usflag:

I'm married. Therefore, I watched How I Met Your Mother and did recognize Cobie Smulders. Yes, she is Canadian, which means she's only a little less likely to be a full-blown socialist than if she was Swedish.

Yes, she is hot but not as hot as she used to be. In the first season of the show, she was stunning - beautiful in the face, perfect hair, and an average, healthy feminine physique. However, she clearly gained weight during the series, and near the end they made her lose it. I understand why they did, but I think they went too far. Her face got too angular, and she lost all curves of any kind. They should have stopped when she got down to her Season 1 weight.
