General Presidential Campaign: Trump vs Hillary

Trump came across well in the rest also. Interesting humorous admissions about praising favorable polls and ignoring others, and trying to avoid brash comments now.

You are missing the point. Clinton raised this issue, trying to paint Trump as racist for pursuing the long form birth certificate. Apparently, the black community turnout is looking lackluster this year. The media didn't expect Trump to fire back with guns a blazing.

But there is tons and tons of verifiable evidence Hillary etc promoted the rumors that BO was not born in the usa
And that he was a Muslim
Why does msm think most people do not know this?

They think most people don't know it, because they don't. When was the last time you heard Hillary called to task on the 2008 campaign? Never, so people assume and accept the falsehood that she was trying to attract the same voters she's trying to attract today - the Obama coalition of minorities, single women, and elite liberals.

But those of us who remember 2008 know that's completely wrong. Hillary was actually trying to appeal to the people who are now Trump supporters - white, blue collar voters in union states. It didn't work, because those voters were already starting to be outnumbered by the secular elite liberals who dominate the party today and because she came across phony to them just as she comes across as phony to most voters today. However, they were her target demographic, which is why the birther/Muslim strategy made sense for her.

I think we can all put this to bed now. Clinton says she never said that she claimed he was not born in the USA. Since she has shone us how trustworthy she is in the past, I will take her word for it.

Interesting comment in that article MH linked...

"But Clinton’s supporters aren’t the same thing as her campaign."

And yet her campaign wants to hold Trump accountable for every bad act his supporters might engage in. Typical double standards from Shillary.

she was trying to attract the same voters she's trying to attract today - the Obama coalition of minorities, single women, and elite liberals.

She/they also see Trump making inroads with blacks, so they have to try and paint Trump as a racist again. What a coincidence that the MSM is all on the same page on the same day when it comes to Trump bashing. It's comical, especially with the Clinton News Network.

The strategy to deflect the narrative away from Hillary's failures to Trump has grown tiresome, but there is no other route for them to take. They can't campaign on a screwed up middle east for which she is largely responsible, honesty and integrity, sound decision making, steadfast and unwavering American values and policies, ability to pick quality staff (or at a minimum, a quality spouse), national security, the economy, Obamacare, collusion with the DNC, or her health versus Trump's. Her campaign has a difficult task, especially when they have to hide her being dragged around like a sack of manure during her seizures, and fighting off FBI investigations every time they turn a corner.

While CNN might be the worst the alphabet networks specifically ABC are working hard to take the top spot.
Even tho I was prepared to see ABC take a pro Hillary stand it was still shocking to watch how blalant they were, with absolutely no attempt for objective reporting. This was on their nightly news.
That chit is going to be hard to overcome.

Has Shillary run a single ad on television that addressed a real issue? All I see from her are ad hominem attacks on Trump.

Trump took the stage at a Miami rally with a backdrop of the scene from Les Miserables but captioned Les Deplorables and the song "Do You hear the people sing" blaring.
of course the crowd went wild
pure genius

Ha. What sabremetrics have done to baseball and spread offense did to football, I think (for better or worse) Trump has either serendipitously stumbled upon or ingeniously created a new completely disruptive way to campaign in today's 5 second soundbite social media world.

Most of it, honestly, is that Clinton is, as someone said earlier, probably the only person incompetent enough to lose to Trump. But the "Can You Hear The People Sing" is just perfection.

No, that was conjecture by a reporter based on one photo. Point is that you can't trust the media to sort it out.

I am pretty sure the media hates Cruz and if they could find proof of affairs, they would do so in a heartbeat.

What else is she going to do? She has no meaningful accomplishments. Those who think she does confuse accomplishments with titles. Hillary has had some impressive titles (none of which required merit), but she accomplished little to be proud of while she held those titles. For comparison, Dwight Eisenhower wasn't qualified because he was Supreme Allied Commander (his title). He was qualified because he masterminded and led the effort to liberate Western Europe and defeat Nazi Germany on the Western Front (a massive accomplishment).

Hillary could run on a policy agenda, but it will ring hollow and insincere because she's dishonest. You lose credibility when most of the country assumes (for good reason) that everything that comes out of your mouth is a lie.

So all she has left is to launch ad hominem attacks on Trump, which shift attention away from her own problems. Furthermore, you don't have to like Hillary to acknowledge that Trump is a jackass. However, I think this tactic is losing its effectiveness for a few reasons. First, the public has heard it all before, and they're getting tired of it and starting to dismiss it. Second, I think the public is less bothered by his absurdity than it would have been in the past. She can point out what a foul mouth and tasteless behavior he has. However, the culture has been so debased and coarsened (which the Left mostly celebrates) that it has become desensitized to it. Furthermore, I think the race and gender cards have been so overplayed in the last few years that they're starting to lose their effectiveness as a political weapon. They'll motivate the hard Left, but absent overt and indefensible racism or sexism, I think the general public is starting to lose its interest.

Yes, the left has spawned Trump.

More media dishonesty. Like I said earlier, the subtleties are critical. Sometimes what they fail to report is the evidence of bias. Link.

Interesting article on how Trump and his ideas fit into the realignment of the GOP and the name between reemerging nationalism and globalism intertwined with identity politics. Link.

"Trump shatters GOP records with small donors"

"Donald Trump has unleashed an unprecedented deluge of small-dollar donations for the GOP, and one that Republican Party elders have dreamed about finding for much of the last decade .....

Trump has only been actively soliciting cash for a few months, but when he reveals his campaign’s financials later this week they will show he has crushed the total haul from small-dollar donors of the last two Republican nominees, John McCain and Mitt Romney — during the entirety of their campaigns.

All told, Trump is approaching, and has possibly already passed, $100 million from donors who have given less than $200, according to an analysis of available Federal Election Commission filings, the campaign’s public statements and people familiar with his fundraising operation. It is a threshold no previous Republican has ever achieved in a single campaign. And Trump has done so less than three months after signing his first email solicitation for donors on June 21 — a staggering speed to collect such a vast sum.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said a senior Republican operative who has worked closely with the campaign’s small-dollar fundraising operation. “ ........

********
Clinton counted 2.3 million donors as of the end of August, the result of decades of campaigning, a previous presidential bid and allies who painstakingly built her an email file of supporters even before she formally announced her second run. But Trump had zoomed to 2.1 million donors in the last three months alone, his campaign has said."

************
“People are pouring in and we’re having to manage the inflow,” said one of the operatives familiar with the Trump operation.

Hillary's IT guy Paul Combetta was on Reddit two years ago asking how to remove VIP email addresses
Combetta is HRC's River Platte/Bleach Bit guy who was granted immunity
It now appears that the reason he pled the 5th, despite the immunity grant, is that he knowingly destroyed evidence that was subject to subpoena
Then he tried to destroy the evidence that was out there that he was destroying evidence

And does anyone believe that this IT dork was operating alone and not taking orders from somebody?

At this point, as crazy as this campaign has been, I can't see Hillary picking up any outstanding undecided voters. Even a good showing in the debate won't help her. By now, if you aren't voting for Hillary a debate won't change your mind.

It's all up to Trump at this point to play a solid game the last 6 weeks or blow it. The question is, has he adapted and take a more even keeled approach to glide past Hillary? Or will he revert to what brought him here?

I think a combo of the two where he's his typical sensationalist, but with positive messages and not making mean spirited personal attacks would be the dominant strategy. The "Can Your Hear the People Sing" Les Deplorables is a good example of how he can make up ground.
