For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

Never wanted that lying shitbag UM on this campus.
Herman will be the coach next year.

I've posted several times for those opposed to Meyer to explain exactly what they don't like about him, have yet to receive a response.

Random curse words don't count.

Herman probably will be the coach at Texas - too expensive to fire. So the Texas players can once again tune into the B12 game on TV and see others playing for it.

This was his year to win - a good, senior QB for Texas against a redshirt freshman OU QB. Not only couldn't He-Man win that game, he also lost against ISU, and the usual stinker to TCU. Poor year by any standard.

Said this last year in a thread I started called “ Got What We Deserved”and still believe it to be true. I caught a lot of heat but here we are again. Except worse.

“ I said when we fired Mack Brown we will reap what we sow and I was right. Got rid of him
to get that train wreck named Strong and now chase another dud. I was right about Strong being a terrible fit. I was wrong about Herman. I thought he would pan out but he is too arrogant to understand his mistakes. If we had stayed with Mack, I can promise you we would be better off today. He deserved better and so does the University of Texas.”

TFB also talking about Mullen, adds this
Lastly, I know some folks have asked about the possibility of Chris Peterson. I did reach out to someone who is close to Peterson and asked if he would entertain the Texas job. Source said, “very doubtful. He’s done”.

Another name floating around out there connected to Peterson is Harsin --
There is a former player working at TFB named Darrius Terrell who played under Harsin. He does not like Harsin, says he is not a good person and Texas should not hire him. As far as I know, he has never given the details but he is adamant about this position

e had stayed with Mack, I can promise you we would be better off today. He deserved better and so does the University of Texas.”

Hard to see that. Brown had seasons of 5, 8, 9, and 8 wins his last 4 seasons, so similar to what Herman is providing now. He was old, lazy, tired, and needed to go. A coach at a top tier university is owed nothing. It should be an honor to coach, and when you can't do it properly anymore, you should leave.

And it took a miracle to beat a bad TTU team

It did, but things like OT wins and losses even out during the season.

That's why this talk of being "3 plays away from being undefeated" is so foolish. It was far more unlikely to win against TT than to have lost to any of the 3 teams Texas has lost to.

Plus, it's not correct to say that anyway. Unlike say the 2008 game against Tech, where a caught INT would have won the game, Texas was never 1 play away from winning any of the three losses, unless you go to some fantasy like "What if OU's QB had thrown an INT for TD in one of the OT?".

Against TCU, Texas fumbled on the 1 yard line, but even an TD there only puts them up by 3 (?), with over 2 minutes left, and TCU had driven the length of the field for a TD their last possession. Plenty of time left to score again.

Against OU, Texas was never one play away. Tied it up with an extra point in regulation, and went for 1 after both OT TD's. Saying that "if Texas had gotten a turnover when OU had the ball" is too far of a stretch for saying "one play". Any team could say that then about an OT loss.

Against ISU, the missed field goal, only close due to Dicker being so good (57 yard try was a terrible output by the offense), would have only tied it, not win it.

Also, Dicker aint that good. He misses too many he should make. But yeah, he has a strong leg and hits them when the game is on the line. But I think he is kinda always 75% and misses many under 45. I guess you have to take the clutch, big leg over the automatic 45 and in...maybe.

I’d certainly prefer an “old, lazy, and tired”
Mack Brown over the young, predictable, surly, immature, reckless and divisive person currently in charge.

Bama boards think Saban may be retiring after this season

How did one of the top few jobs in CFB become what it has become? Hard to understand.
Who, besides Texas fans, ever really thought it was one of the top jobs? Not saying it wasn't or may be again, just wondering if that was another myth floating around about "We're Texas" and so on and so forth.

Best recruiting state and highest revenue program would get you in the conversation I think.

I just mentioned earlier to the fam that he had regressed since the big "Dicker...The Kicker!!!" against OU.

But...dealing with "Big Cigars" and different factions, etc. Mack Brown united all that for a long time. That is part of the job, so, again, do actual coaches consider the job to be that great and desirable?

What kind of a SHI*BAG:
1. Goes on National TV calling into question a current coach’s long-term viability based on player development;
2. Entertains interest in said coach’s job when courted;
3. Jokes and does not categorically deny interest on National TV a day before rejecting the offer; and
4. Doesn’t appear to be at all concerned with the negative impact his career flirtation has on 2021 recruiting?

Maybe he hasn't really turned Texas down. See the comment above yours.

Do we all believe these pay site and Kirk Bohls "sources" now? I don't.
