For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

Re: An interim coach.

You don’t call him an “interim coach.” Just make him the coach period—who just happens to have a shorter contract, along with a smallish early buy out.

This will all work out somehow. Sometimes people in the know cannot release everything they know publicly. I really don’t see Texas getting stuck with Herman, the bridge got burned. I have faith in CDC, we’ll know in the next wk or so, hopefully less.

Assuming that Meyer is conflicted and likely not coming

Definitely agree. If Meyer is conflicted, why not name Yurcich the HC and give him a one year contract? If he would agree to such a deal — and he should because of the upside, that would leave all options on the table for next year, including a “no longer conflicted” Meyer. Or, Yurcich may just prove you be the real deal.

Recruits may not like the uncertainty, but it would be no worse than where we are today. We’re not going to extend Herman and the recruits and their parents sense that there is a problem in Austin. That’s why the class is so weak.

So if Meyer is not coming now we will be stuck with a subpar 2021 class regardless. It is what it is, and we can thank our Mensa HC for that.

My personal observation? Nothing is gonna happen! We are just gonna have to ride this out with Herman. CDC ain’t gonna make a move. Who is gonna come in and fix this recruiting class at this point?

I'll be able to tell my grandkids about the time we almost got Saban and then a few years later almost got Urban...

I keep coming back to this, shared by someone I know very well who sat behind Ewers parents at a Southlake game on November 27th:

“Sitting at a Dragon football game behind Quinn Ewers folks. He (Ewers’ father) was telling me that Urban has a standing offer at UT. He also said his son decommitted for several reason. Uncertainty in the longevity of the coaching staff was part of it, but he said there was “stuff” going on at UT that he couldn’t discuss that weighed heavily on the decision.“

“Stuff going on” is why Herman will not be employed at Texas much longer IMO.

A HC with a one year contract is a dead man walking. How is he going to recruit? You hire either Coordinator for 5 years @ $M per with hefty bounded for Championships.

Sir, I am sorry to inform you that you have cancer.

Oh my God, what do I do?

Well, we can completely cut it out. It will be painful, but it will be gone. Or, we can do nothing and come back next year to see how much worse it is. What’s your choice?

We are stuck with the cancer. In fact CDC will probably give him an extention when we win the toilet bowl this year.

The major players in this fiasco have proven themselves to be " The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight". Total screwup from the word go.

It's not a good look, for sure
The reality of what and how does not even matter. Here, the perception is enough
Among the many issues, and there are many, is the amount of "leaking." Whether it comes agents, admin types, the paysites or the BMDs themselves, every time we try to do something, it becomes a giant clusterfrack.

And this^^^^^ ...along with a few other things.....is what outsiders have been citing as the real issues down here.
(And I think you left a few people/groups out)

Seems Orangebloods and Inside Texas just make up **** vs. sources, hell UM was outside of San Antonio, in Napa, in Columbus all at the same time last week.
