For Real ....Herman “IS” Done!!!

If UM wants Texas he will get it done now. If he is afraid of the heat, thinks he is better than Texas, too inbred with Ohio, negotiating for unreasonable $’s or another job, or whatever, we don’t want him, and both party’s need to move on. Texas needs to know their walk away position and not roll over. I don’t know why but I detect a bit of arrogance. Maybe because I did business in Ohio for many years and they were all a bunch of arrogant a- -holes. We need to deal from a position of strength. The University of Texas, like the state of Texas takes a back seat to nobody.
Give Tom a vote, take recruiting on the chin this yesr and get the next guy when you find him. Check out that guy at the Bearcats.

I just don't think it's about $. I think it has more to do with his family not wanting him to coach, his health and dealing with all the politics related to the job. I just hope CDC can do the best sales job is his life because other good options just don't seem to exist.
 
Whatever is holding everyone up, it needs to go away....if UM does not want Texas by now he needs to say NO and we move on. These delays are costing Texas more everyday!!

Just needs to stop!

Hopefully some of these recruits will postpone their early LoI until Texas has a plan to show and tell!!

Costing us what? Is there a busload of 5* out there thinking early date is A&M or LSU, should I wait? Do you think the Brocks, or either of our QBs are coming back if we announce UM tomorrow?

I have trusted Chris & Jay to get this done. Either Meyer wants to or he doesn't. He reached out to us first. Money is not the issue. I'd rather wait and have a present at Christmas than strike out and go for the also rans being discussed.

As I have said before, if not Urban Meyer, then fire Herman and make Yurich (sp) interim. Surgically remove the cancer, then worry about reconstruction, but make damn sure that reconstruction surgeon is the best there is.

If it’s not Meyer, I’m fine with Yurcich (or even Ash) for a year but I do like Campbell. If we’re not going to make a big splash then let’s play the long game.
 
The Oregon coach is as bad as Herman. Probably worse. On other news, I did hear Briles is looking at Tech. That’d be scary.
 
Get this crap. I just heard a rumor out there that if UM says no then we are most likely stuck with Herman. As a result of this being such a public thing and in order to keep him from bolting we might have to give some incentive to get him to stay so we aren't just sitting here holding our collective dicks.

If we are stuck and have to give mensa more money because we screwed this up so bad I may completely separate from UT all together. I just don't know who would be stupid enough to buy out his contract because he's been such a success around here.....

Only recruit who MIGHT be willing to wait would the one who is already a Texas target and thinking of bailing. The others are gone. UM could turn a disaster into decent. That and his proven success will right the ship, some now and some later. Some of his guys are already on staff and so the link to player is there.
I agree that it needs to get done soon but we don’t know what is going on. Take comfort in your AD. He is the best and I think can get it done if it is doable. I hope the hold up is a valid and professional one. We have a class guy on our side.

The best thing that could happen to us is for Herman to walk, but he has NO WHERE to go. Without our money, not Directional Michigan or Missouri Southern or Chico State will take him. Your "friends" are either Aggie trolls or residing at the Austin State School.

Kendall might be a mutual glance. I have to believe that before Tech looks at either of them, they look at Graham Harrell.

Yes, I know how popular Harrell was when he was the QB there, but Tech has fewer choices than we do.
 
Can Ash or Yurcich simply take over as HC? This way the Herman buyout is only 10-12 million.

I just want Herman gone (He's hated by players, recruits, HS coaches and UT administrators). All other UT position coaches seem OK.
 
If we swing and miss here we have gone full Aggie. Whytf can we not get this done or not behind the scenes? When you allow this flirtation to go public without squashing or confirming... if he says "no thanks" then we are once again getting a Strong and not a Saban in the end and we are hamstrung from the jump in a new consolation prize regime. Or Tom stays and gets a raise for embarrassing him.

He hasn't been embarrassed YET, but if he wants, we can make that happen. I'll go to his press conferences as HornFans reporter.
