Election Day

If you are one of those people who promised to leave the country if Trump wins, we can get that rescinded for you. Consider it done

Bye Madonna, Cher, Bryan Cranston, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Barbra Streisand, Lena Dunham, Miley, Neve Campbell, Stephen King, Samuel Jackson, Jon Stewart, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, George Lopez, Raven Symone, Whoopi, & Ruth Bader Ginsburg (need to appt a new justice :). If we can get rid of a bunch more liberal Hollywood elites, then we just got rid of America's armpits.

She ain't singing, but the fat lady is warming up. It looks like 4 years of Donald. :puke:

The good news is that OU still sucks.

No the good news is that it's not Hillary.

Biased and very wrong, yes. But corrupt?

Of course corrupt. This isn't even a question. They edited stuff intentionally and they were proven to be in bed with the DNC and Hillary's campaign in the wikileaks emails

Was 1928 was last time Republicans had the White House, the House and the Senate?

Looking at stats now, Bush did have the majority in both for the beginning of his second term, but not as new president (because of Jim Jeffords)

Apparently Hillary is refusing to accept the results

Maybe Chris Wallace should have asked her if she would concede for the good of the country and to assure the long tradition of peaceful transition?

Reverse the positions, if Trump was refusing at this point, the media would be going bananas

So I got up this morning and turned on the news, and it looks like Trump is going to win this, though several key states are too close to call with absolute certainty. It also looks like the GOP is going to hold the Senate - very good news. We already knew they would hold the House, but it looks like the losses will be pretty small. The only downside I see is that one of the Democratic pick-ups will be Charlie Crist in Florida. Crist is a throbbing tool, whom I wanted to lose.

I'm still mulling over this, and I'll have more comments later. I have to take Deez, Jr. to his preschool. Having said that, I'm not going to excuse-monger or try to BS or rationalize. My predictions on the Presidential election were very wrong.

As I have maintained throughout these various threads, the single biggest issue of this election (barring nuclear holocaust) was the make-up of the SCOTUS, which is at a critical stage right now. A Hillary victory would have been a disaster on this front.

So, I was always more anti-Hillary than I was pro-Trump for this one reason alone. I would have supported whoever the Rs ran out there to oppose her. I would have supported Amy the Wonder Carp against the corrupt Clintons. I was a Cruz-voter before Trump showed up and stole the show with his position on immigration and the border. Once he made it clear, early on, that he would strive to find Scalia-like Justices for open positions, this was good enough for me.

I suspect that Jeff Sessions had alot to do with Trump's early seizure of these issues (along with trade deals/jobs). And so I give him much credit for this victory. Trump owes him. I wonder what position Sessions might want in the admin? If I am Trump, I would give him whatever he asks.

I dont know how this election might affect the economy. We may be in for some rocky times. I suspect we are closer to recession now than what has been released, and I look for future revisions of GDP components after Obama has left office. We will see. In any event, I think this state is better positioned to navigate what lies ahead.

This is actually a really good victory speech. Gracious, humble, sensible, big-tent...

I think he had a lobotomy.

Major Garrett says Trump's transition is ready to go -- they acted as tho they would win and are prepared.

Open talk of assassination by Hillary supporters on Twitter......

Liberals are and have been the most hate-filled people in this country
I always find it surprising when someone wants to argue this
I place the death of the once traditional "peace & love" lefties around the time of the Robert Bork hearings -- they shifted into a new gear then and have never looked back

I would be fine with Ted Cruz SCOTUS nom

If Trump wants to advance him, he has to do it with this first choice, he cannot wait.
The other Senators dont like Cruz much, so Trump will have to do it while he has a lot of politcal capital to spend
Important to get this first pick right. Cruz would toe the Scalia line. And he would make oral arguments much more interesting

Switched from Fox to NBC for as long as I could stand it. They could not even pretend to hide their disdain for President elect Trump. Andrea Mitchell looked ready to cry.

Pathetic. Can't believe anyone voted for Hillary. Not much respect for those who did.

Oh man the distress is incredible. I heard a long discussion about how to assist children with the trauma they are experiencing this morning.

That's what most people I knew kept coming back to. As much of n unknown as Trump was, we knew exactly what we'd get with Hillary, and it was really bad.

If all Trump does is keep the GOP spenders in line, appoint good justices and trims off a bunch of the regulatory mess of the last 8 years while not getting us into a war, he'll be an improvement.
