Coronavirus

1) Flu shots are not marketed as a 'vaccine.'

Walgreens site right now. Notice the highlighted small print.

I can't find any evidence that the CDC has ever called it anything other than a vaccine.

The attempt to claim that the vaccines can only be called vaccines if they are 100% effective in stopping the disease is ignorant.

You don't see road signs in multiple States begging for people to get a flu vaccine. What you DO see are signs in front of stores offering a 'flu shot.' If you have to go to a fly-speck print to see the word 'vaccine,' that tells you ALL you need to know about how it is viewed.

I guess the flu had a better marketing agent though since that is what Kroger still pimps from the parking lot...marketed as a FLU SHOT. That is also what the bored pharmacists pimp in the aisle.

The rush for people to get a shot for the sniffles that does not prevent in any substantial manner someone from GETTING the sniffles shows what a charade it is. But yay for discrimination...

LOL.

You are looking at only surface data if you think Israel is "evidence" for your stance that vaccines are "close to worthless".

Here is a good, unbiased article that delves into the Israel situation.

"The bad news is that half of Israel's seriously ill patients who are currently hospitalized were fully vaccinated at least five months ago"

"Delta accounts for nearly all infections in Israel today."

50 percent of patients. It's probably helping somewhat but this article proves my point. You notice that they're getting a booster soon to combat this.

Why would anybody get the shot now in Israel (with no booster) with that rate of effectiveness when you factor in that we don't know what the long term effects are?

In another couple of months without a booster this percentage will continue to rise.

We've reached the end times now that Product Marketing reps and Ad agencies now are allowed to dictate the definition of medical terms. It's not a vaccine because some marketing person discovered more people will take the vaccine if you called it a "shot". McDonald's food is healthy, fossil fuel companies care about climate change and Nebraska football is cool and hip. Reality is based on ads. :yikes:

Is there a reason you didn't quote this?
The good news is that among Israel's serious infections on Thursday of this week, according to Health Ministry data, the rate of serious cases among unvaccinated people over age 60 (178.7 per 100,000) was nine times more than the rate among fully vaccinated people of the same age category, and the rate of serious cases among unvaccinated people in the under-60 crowd (3.2 per 100,000) was a little more than double the rate among vaccinated people in that age bracket.

or this...
That means only 58% of Israel's total citizenry is fully vaccinated. Experts say that's not nearly high enough.

or this...
On Israel's doorstep, the vaccination rate is much lower in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Only around 8% of Palestinians have been fully vaccinated.

This Israel situation is making the case for a booster shot which they started issuing in July. Doesn't that denote that Israel believes the vaccine is not worthless but rather evidence is showing declining anti-bodies over time?

One study out of Europe on healthcare workers showed the Moderna vaccine had a >2X antibody rate in comparison to Pfizer at 6-months.

Yes, but this you quoted. About this good news. What does that tell you? It's recently getting better due to the booster that came out in July and it will continually get better. It doesn't change the point that I was making about the old vaccine. Good grief.

Nothing here you've stated changes my point. You can't have 50% of the vaccinated population taking up ICU beds and say that I'm wrong.

Of course, I'm arguing with someone who says the rich don't pay their fair share of the taxes despite the facts out there that says it's not true.

Another quote on the Israel example:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/outl...srael-hospitalization-rates-simpsons-paradox/
"Something very similar is happening in Israel. Vaccinated Israelis, like White Americans, are older as a group than unvaccinated Israelis. And that’s why they’re going to the hospital at a rate higher than you might naively hope. Among Israeli adults under 50, as of Aug. 15, 3.5 million were vaccinated and 1.1 million were not. That’s still a considerable number of vaccine holdouts. Among those 3.5 million vaccinated younger people, just 11 were hospitalized — about three per million. Meanwhile, of the unvaccinated in this age range, 43 were in the hospital, or 39 per million."

3 < 39.

The vaccine rate in Afghanistan is 5%. Seem to be a lot of healthy Afghans running around even without urgent cares, Kidney Dialysis shops on every corner, "great" doctors and pharma and media.-hmmm why?....
Maybe just maybe not taking pills, vaccines etc made their immune system stronger over the years.
Of course, I don't see fat people in Afghanistan.

In the US I doubt that 95% of the hospitalized are unvaccinated as reported- That is impossible.(But I bet 75% are fat or very old..)
If that is the case of only 5% are vaccinated in hospitals --then Covid is finished if everyone is vaxxed. But no way Covid is over, because there is too much money now in the vaccine industry.

This statement:

is incongruent with this statement that "50% of ICU patients are fully vaccinated". It's a statistical oddity that I'm searching for a reason how that is possible.

We do know that 87% of those fully vaccinated covid patients that are "seriously ill" are >60yrs of age.

I did not know invermectin has been used in billions if people around the world for decades.
Likely more humans have been given invermectin than horses. Makes it more than an animal de_wormer

'The good news is that among Israel's serious infections on Thursday of this week" From my interpretation it sounds like this week's infection rate. That's why I said it looks like the new boosters are working well. The 50% amount is the overall amount of vaccinated in the ICU.

They only started distributing the booster in July. Could that have really impacted the numbers so dramatically so quickly? Not being cheeky but an honest question. I recognize they only have 9.2M population and the vaccination centers are already setup.

Humans take it to treat hookworm.

We need to let the medical research professionals complete their studies before we jump to the solution. So far, Ivermectin studies regarding Covid impact have been inconclusive at best.

Good math. Another way to look at it is for that age group, the unvaccinated have a 0.0036% more of a chance to be hospitalized.
I know that I have my degrees from Oklahoma but you need to work on your cyphering. To equate 1.1 million to 3.5 million you multiply 1.1 x 3.18182. If you multiply 43 hospitalized by the same 3.18182 to compare apples to apples you come to 136.82. So for them to basically have an "equal" chance at hospitalization there would have to be around 137 vaccinated people hospitalized. 11 is SIGNIFICANTLY less than 137.

After a month's time you would think it should start making a difference quickly among the new infections since the population is small. We started vaccinations here in the states in mid-December and by late January we were seeing a big difference.

However, it's going to take awhile to get the 50% vaccination figure down but it will.

Yep you did some hard cyphering but how was my statement incorrect. If you are going to do hard cyphering show something for it.

From the article:

vax hospitalization 3 out 1 million
Unvax hospitalization 39 out of 1 million approximately. So there are 36 out of a million more unvax in hospital.
36/1,000,000=0.000036x100= 0.0036%
Now let’s do it with your numbers since now you know the trick. You will have 137 more people. 137/3,500,000=0.000039x100=0.0039%
Math is scalable, you are correct but you did it the hard way and didn’t disprove what I wrote, send back one of your degrees to OU.

Interesting reports that rats are jumping ship at the FDA over SippyCupJoe and his incessant push for boosters. Seems that they were NOT recommending the booster shots but that Biden ignored the guidance (seems to be a developing pattern with him).

Even CNN seems unable to cover for them... Two senior FDA vaccine leaders step down as agency faces decision on boosters - CNN

Is that oil field cyphering? The difference is SIGNIFICANT.

We got vaccine the day before Christmas holidays. Vaccines didn’t really kick in for the general public that was not 65+ until February.

Just heard about this.

Credibility is down to zilch with the Vax Gestapo. The virus is real. But, What we hear from what are supposed to be Orgs that serve the public with sound advice are purely political. Pathetic
