Coronavirus

Cancellation of all this stuff is hyping the hysteria. Just affected me with the cancellation of girls hs basketball state playoffs in Tenn. Pure BS. First it was going to be immediate player families only, that ticked me off cause I’m just a grandfather of a cheerleader and they weren’t even going to be allowed. Now no tournament period. This is lunacy! For so many girls this is a dream come true, many Srs will never play another competitive game. Really irritates me. Stupid to think cancelling a girls hs basketball tournament with its attendance numbers is going to affect the contagion.

My girl is a sophomore and they were on their way to their 16 consecutive trip to state. She shines in the layup line. I think it's a little much as well.
 
Our little team just won the first round today, then the limited attendance announced going forward, then cancellation, as I said, lunacy.

And grandfathers will move Heaven and earth for their grandchildren. I am sorry you won’t see it. But understand it’s for your own good. Folks not much older than you are the at-risk demographic in a high risk community spread state tournament.

As if we didn't have enough problems with the virus and Saudi Arabia's antics, now China says it may cut us off from the drugs to fight the Corona virus.

China supplies over 80 percent of U.S. antibiotics, 70 percent of acetaminophen and about 40 percent of heparin (blood thinner).

Now I suppose there'll be a run on Tylenol too. Boy were we stupid to lose control of manufacturing to China.

Yep. I'm a free trader, but I'm far less so when we're talking about goods and services that are a matter of life and death. I'm not saying that I don't want to import drugs from anywhere or even that I don't want to import them from China. However, we can't be dependent on China for anything like that. If they cut us off from cheap televisions for awhile, who cares? If they cut us off from antibiotics, that's a major problem. The fact that they're even talking that kind of crap is reason to restructure things.
 
Trump has been talking about that restructuring since he announced he was running.

Ugh. Just found out that the local schools in our state (Rheinland-Pfalz) as well as the US military schools are closed as of this Monday and are expected to stay closed until after Easter.
 
Anyone else notice a couple posters around here who were very quiet for a couple weeks until this all happened?

The things that you guys miss is it is not what that person picks up at the game. It's what the people at the game take back to their town and spread. 50 people at a MIT conference got it from one guy.

Antibiotics won’t be used for covid 19 and the US could quickly make acetaminophen. Heparin would be the issue. Pharma might be a great sector to buy right now.

Has anyone else noticed that democrats don't seem to have any original thoughts on their own. They read something online and just seem to rattle it off like a tape recorder. I honestly don't think they use their brains, all they do is hear what the party says and that is the truth. They would have fit in perfectly in Nazi Germany.

I'm convinced 99% of all Democrats are just weak minded people who don't have the ability to think for themselves.
