Coronavirus

Texas state Dems will hold a presser today, after Abbott's presser.
Present will be the "DNC Battleground States" Director for TX and a few elected Texas Dems. They cannot yet tell us what they plan to say to save us all from the coronavirus because they dont yet know what Abbott is going to say. But whatever he does say will be wrong and bad and awful and terrible.

I think the analysis is pretty superficial, because it basically presumes without evidence that these people died of Coronavirus. However, the overall point is likely true. I'm sure that plenty of people who died in the last few months of respiratory problems actually had Coronavirus but were never tested for it.

But like I mentioned earlier, a serious journalist rather than a propagandist should also mention that we're also almost surely underreporting cases by far more than were underreporting deaths.
So that guy is a propagandist?

I surely think positives and therefore survivors are very under reported.

Also, I think this is probably not that fitting with the US.

If you're analyzing what's essentially a fraction, and you look only at the numerator but not the denominator, I can only assume that you're pushing an agenda. But it's possible that he's not a propagandist. He could just be really dumb. Did he go to OU?

Everyone who dies now is counted as a coronavirus death. I suspect, the higher the count, the higher the federal funding you receive
Pennsylvania has had to remove hundreds of coronavirus deaths from its official death count this week, following questions of accuracy and highlighted discrepancies by area coroners.
The PA health department decided to include “probable” coronavirus deaths, or an assumed COVID-19-related death without testing for the virus, to their death tolls, dating back days and even weeks ago. But the death toll spike raised questions from coroners who came forward to highlight a discrepancy in death totals, which were not adding up to the number of all-cause deaths.
The scrutiny triggered multiple revisions and statements from the department, including the removal of 200 “probable” COVID-19 deaths and a claim of computer “glitching.”

I honestly can't see a problem with going to the beach if you can maintain social distancing. I like to bike and have altered my routes so as to avoid crowded trails at the busiest time of day. But if my family and I are at the beach 20-30 feet away from other gatherings... what's the problem?

I hear you. I was in Port Aransas the weekend of March 15th. We were on the beach and people would walk practically through our spot. And they already knew about social distancing. I remember. And that's the problem. Not everyone is like you.

None Crockett. I like Port Aransas for the beach. Rockport for the fishing and it’s safe there. My brother has a place there. Galveston is great too. I was there Saturday.

House Speaker Pelosi says may look at guaranteed income, other aid
The end game is a voting majority of morons living off the government. THIS. IS. COMMUNISM. The producers will be supporting the excuse making crowd. I will never vote Democrat again. This isn't about supporting Trump. This is about supporting people like John Roberts and not the Sotomayor's who are the feudal, tribal, racist enablers.

I have been writing about this for several years but from the aspect of their attempting to read it into the Constitution. This plan was hatched with the help of George Soros, of course. The Hillary Campaign was already vetting judges for how receptive they would be to creating this new right out of thin air (dont laugh, it's happened before). It would already be on its way had she won.

This is way past raising the minimum wage debates. AT LEAST people work for it.

@Joe Fan -- your previous post made two claims. First was that a coronavirus diagnosis leads to higher reimbursement. This is true, but to be fair, the same is true of each and every diagnosis code in the book. Making a diagnosis triggers a treatment protocol, which determines the reimbursement rate. For example, a hospital get paid more for a diagnosis of a broken arm + skin lacerations than a broken arm without lacerations. There is no reason coronavirus should be any different.

Your second assertion was that hospitals would place the coronavirus label on "everyone who dies" so they could inflate reimbursement. This is the more controversial part of your statement, and you haven't produced any evidence to support it. In fact, the very article you cite says they found no evidence that this has happened, much less systematically.

I had someone on another forum go berserk when I suggested these loons and Bill Gates et al were manipulating the numbers for financial gain.

Again, I haven't seen anything to suggest that numbers have been manipulated. Is there any such evidence?

FWIW, I don't doubt that isolated examples of intentional misdiagnosis will surface. Evidence might even surface that a small number of hospitals have engaged in systematic intentional misdiagnosis. I hope that both the government and the media will be vigilant in this regard. But I find it unreasonable to assume, without evidence, that the differential in diagnosis will result in wide-spread fraud.

Cuomo revealed the results of the state's second random antibody screening of a few thousand New Yorkers. The data were mostly in line with the first test, though they caused the overall numbers to fluctuate a little bit: The new figures brought the statewide detection rate to 14.9%, up by nearly a full percentage point, while the new data for NYC drove the detection rate to a whopping 25%, up from 21% last week. So far, 7,500 have been tested between the two samples.

Adding COVID on a non-Covid patient would be fraud. CMS will address it and people won't do it because they have a pretty thick stick. It's significant risk for minimal reward.

NYC will achieve herd immunity by Sept 1. Also, their nursing homes are probably 75% infected.

There won't be any numbers on that. if hospitals are guilty there aren't going to expose themselves.

However, we do know human nature. Humans do what they are incentivized to do. If that is to categorize deaths a certain way to increase reimbursements, it is reasonable to think that some are doing so.

In New Jersey, and presumably New York, patients who present with COVID symptoms are given a blood test immediately upon arrival, at the very start of the triage process. Patients without symptoms are given a blood test upon admission. Thus, the vast majority of COVID diagnoses in hospitals are based on a positive blood test. Unless you think hospitals are fabricating lab results, there is very little room for funny business.

The vast majority of "probable" COVID diagnoses are happening in home-to-morgue cases. Because these patients never set foot in a hospital, the hospital reimbursement rate never comes into play.
