CFP Peach Bowl Game Thread - Horns vs ASU

I like how Ohio State and Day kept the pedal to the metal when they got the lead. Sark hasn’t done that this year. When we get ahead he regresses into conservative play calling. Why did we not see intermediate passes like we had in OT during the 3rd quarter and early fourth qtr. It seems like it’s swing passes and vanilla calls with an occasional bomb (not Ewers strength) mixed in.

I want to see us get out to a lead and then turn it up.

Big task ahead if Ohio State plays like they have the last 2 games.

Sorry! But if you're following Billy Liucci you are in need of therapy! That guy is the BIGGEST LOSER Aggie. Do something for your mental health and STOP giving that guy an audience!

I'm very concerned about Horns going into the next game vs. buckeyes Jan. 10th.

Game 16 for both tosu and UT. Both teams are tired and dealing with injuries to starters. Especially UT. Bucks are solid all around O, D, ST, Kicking Game.

The Horns showed INCREDIBLE GRIT and DETERMINATION today by winning vs. the worthy and resilient Devils.

I trust Sark to raise the focus and level of play to take on the buckeyes and believe he will have a plan to WIN!!!

Anything gaggie is always good for a laugh. Liucci and txags are the best for that.

I almost forced myself to follow my normal no-reading message boards and no posting for 24 hours after a loss rule with this one but after several hours of calming down I gave in. Hard to really comment on the specifics of this one beyond a reminder to us all that sometimes you really shouldn't let how 18-to 22-year-old boys perform in a sporting event played for your entertainment affect your blood pressure so much.

Texas did what Texas has had a habit of doing these past five weeks, fart around, not put teams away, and have far more drama than ever should have happened. Had they lost, I would have ranked this one up there with the '84 Cotton Bowl, the 2001 Big XII Title game, and the 2008 Texas Tech games in the pantheon of most disappointing losses in the last half-century. I don't really count the '78 Cotton Bowl or 2010 NC game in the pantheon of most disappointing losses as one was a blowout and the other felt like it was headed to a loss from the moment Colt got injured. The others were all like this one, games I felt Texas could, would, and should win but found ways to lose.

Now for a moment of rational thinking. I am glad Texas won, glad the Horns will have a shot next week to get the awful taste of this week out of their mouths, and glad that as ugly a win as that was, it was a win in a national quarterfinal. Two years in a row in the National Semifinals is pretty impressive and not something to take for granted. At some point, it is still possible the Texas that played in Tuscaloosa and Ann Arbor and that has the talent to beat anybody on any given day is going to hopefully show up, and the reality is, by whatever means needed they found a way today they won and they survived and advanced, and no one will care how they got there if they can suddenly show up next week and maybe the week after if it ends with burnt orange confetti again in Atlanta.

I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty...& we accomplished the former. We're damned lucky Taaffe was not called for targeting. I don't blame ASU for being pissed, but the game is survive & advance. We accomplished that also. That effort will NOT do in the next round. We were out-coached & out-played IMHO.
I understand much of the gnashing of teeth about today’s game. It was a real good nail biter. More than anything, I think it showed our team’s weakness against a well-coached and disciplined defense which had a strength that was almost fatal for us—but almost is not enough. They made us one dimensional—our run game was ineffectual. Which made our passing game much easier to defend.
Our offense needs a power runner that can push the pile. And our offensive line is not a dominating unit. And it is not disciplined —too many penalties.
And our special teams also are a weakness. Fake punts have hurt us badly. We should always be alert or for a fake. Missed field goals cost us the Georgia game and came within a whisker of costing this game.
Tough hard nosed physical defenses make our run game disappear.
Also we have a hard time picking up blitzes.

ASU was a good blitzing team and they hurt us, but not fatally.

Somehow Quinn beat them with smart audibles and clutch passing accuracy. He saved our a-s-s…

Yeah whatever man, far from the truth. All you do is copy and paste thousands of tweets.

I post the truth, along with others. No one cares about your incessant sunshine pumping.
I don’t know why we are eating our young. We won a hard fought game and should be enjoying it. Not interested in bickering but will say CNB posts some engaging information about the team and what is happening within

4th and 13 I'm just telling myself to try to appreciate the season we've had, even though I'm also thinking, my god, this is one of the biggest choke jobs I've ever seen. Then.....KABOOM! Touchdown. And we're still alive. I couldn't believe it! Ewers wasn't perfect today. But he carried this team to victory. No run game at all. It was all on him. And he came through. Kudos to Quinn!
