Big 12 Tournament

Well have " home games" for the regionals.

Looking forward to that.

Were you trying to get rational with me? I guess you can try that online. Now, the person in front of the tv with me during a tight game would know better. Fortunately, I am all better now. Great game! Somehow that crowd did not sound so loud in the second half. :smile1:

Pretty miffed that on ESPN's game recap, they have no picture of Rori to go along with her top performance stats. Like she's a nobody...WAKE UP!

They can say whatever they want and vote however they want... but the best two teams in the conference with the best players in the conference will meet tomorrow in the championship game.

How Rori Harmon wasn’t first team all big12 as well as defensive player of the year is just ridiculous and it’s now proven to be ridiculous. No way Lexi Donarski and Emily Ryan got added before Harmon and the play today just goes to show that list was a bunch of :e-poo:

There were three people from KC sitting behind me that had never seen Texas play and they were in complete awe of Rori and started researching her and couldn’t believe she was a Freshman and they were absolutely blown away by her defensive play. They became Texas fans. I could tell one had played college ball so I asked her and she said Pittsburg St. They talked about Rori and watched her every move the whole game.
They were shocked when I pointed out the Big 12 DPOY recipient.

Rori has certainly looked All Big 12 the last two days. I was as surprised as anyone about Donarski being the Defensive POY but she did a great job defending Matharu today. Maybe I haven't been paying enough attention.

Kudos to our ladies. It's damn tough to beat any good team 3x in a season, much less a top 10 team.

Although would like to see a little more consistency than 0 pts in the last 5 min and then 19 in a 5 min OT. Shoulda never been an OT.

In the three games we played against Iowa State, Rori defended "First Team All-Big 12" PG Emily Ryan to the tune of 22 turnovers. I can go further but no need... I rest my case.

For those who watched the game, how did we allow them to shoot 21 three-pointers (and make 11)? Were they wide open or in transition? In the game in Austin, ISU was 4-12 on three-pointers.

We won both nights getting to the line. Never did I think it would be free throws that put this team in the championship game… never.

A mixture of both. Some were transition and some were us helping too much causing a kick out to a wide open isu player. We had a lot of defensive miscues tonight.

ISU was 6-6 on FT. We were 16-19. Fennelly must have been livid all game long that the refs weren't sending his team to the free throw line :e-face-tears:

It was not in transition. They were moving the ball around and finding the open person. I didn’t realize they hit that many from my viewpoint in the stands to be honest

On several of their 3s, we played good D. Then in the last few seconds on the shot clock, they just made plays. A lot of times, their guards backed our smaller guards down, then when we helped, they would find the open player behind the arc. ISU played really well and hard. Fennelly made some nice adjustments. Especially against the press…..he introduced several new plays that helped limit his turnovers. Just a well played, intense game by two good well coached teams. I’m expecting ISU to have a good run in The Dance…..as a third seed.

Joens got a few in transition with her pull up 3 pointer then she hit one on the wing where nobody was 10ft near her

Creme has updated brackets by moving Texas to a 2. Keeps ISU as a 2 due to competitiveness of the game. This dropped LSU to a 3 and into a matchup with Texas in ELITE 8. INTERESTING if Committee agrees

Here is the Iowa State press conference. At around the 9:00 minute mark there is a discussion about “freedom of movement”. Fennelly says freedom of movement no longer exists in women’s basketball. What does this mean? I don’t have much knowledge of “X’s & O’s” so I don’t understand this comment. Whatever it is, I don’t think he is a fan of how certain aspects of the games are officiated.
