Big 12 Tournament

WCBB…I’m in the same boat. Frontier Premium package plus ESPN+ so I always get to watch on LHN, ESPN (lots of channels), or ESPN+ streaming. And it includes the SEC Network, BIG 10 Network, PAC 12 Network and more. But Moooo is correct that last week there were LOTS of women’s basketball to watch and I couldn’t watch em all. This week the B 12 will be relegated to mostly streaming and a few main ESPN channels for big games. When we go SEC all bets are off. We may or may not have TLN and be more dependent on SEC Network and ESPN+ streaming. I can always find em now or in the future. However, not everyone has ESPN+ streaming, so fewer eyeballs from the sports public will see. I always want to make it easily available to be a Horns fan. Minor life irritation.
The best thing I ever did was go totally streaming... It's where things are trending so we may as well accept and adjust. THIS from a guy who always had about a $300 monthly cable/internet bill because I had to have every channel "just in case." Where streaming is concerned, ESPN has the Big 12, ACC, and SEC Networks so all the games are streamed via ESPN+ and definitely worth the nominal monthly fee. Outside of those conferences, I don't have a whole lot of interest in watching any others (including the PAC12). My Roku streaming devices have become my best friends.

So, first things first. Although Gerlich and Texas Tech won't be receiving Christmas cards from any of us any time soon, we need them to win their first game in KC on Thursday against OSU (who swept them this season).

Why? In the NET rankings, Texas Tech is currently ranked #78. Our home loss to them hem is considered a (bad) Q3 loss since they are ranked outside the Top 75. Beating OSU might help put them into the Top 75; losing to OSU again for sure won't. And, should they face Baylor (who has strong rankings) on Friday, even if they lose, that could still help them get into the Top 75 NET rankings.

Why is that important? We're the only team in the NET Top 10 rankings who has a Q3 loss. That's probably the only black mark on our resume'. And, if you provide the selection committee any reason to "ding" you, they will. Really want that Q3 loss to become a Q2 loss, even if it means rooting for Texas Tech on Thursday.

I have tickets to all sessions but doubt I’ll be attending the Tech/OSU game. Despite the info, I’d find it very hard to cheer on Tech in any way.

If Texas has a Net ranking at #7 and the committee decides to bump 8, 9 or 10 in front of them for that, then they’ll just find another reason if not in my opinion. Go Cowgirls!

They already did. That's why Texas was at #10 in the last reveal on 02/28 even though our NET ranking has been better than #10 for the past few weeks

Wow! If this 35-minute press conference isn't the most entertaining and motivational you've seen, tell me I'm insane. The last half is incredible.

Great insights on Rory, the tourneys, Vic's 5-year plan to build the program, his personal motivation, and the tremendous non-financial value of Saturday.

His story about his trip alone to Russia dropped my jaw too. Must see stuff

I’m rooting for Okie Light too. Based on Coach just being fired and his agreeing on lineup change. Go Cowgirls.

LOTS of insight in that interview. I laughed so hard when he said something about being strip searched in Russia by a room full of soldiers carrying uzzies that my stomach hurt. Especially poignant was saying he had given up time with his kids and wife because of how he was wired. We admire folks like him. Although I wouldn’t do it. He wants to get that Natty. He’s got about 10 years to do it. He coaches so hard, much past 70 is a stretch. What’s not to like and who doesn’t want to play for Schaefer?

Does anyone know 1) which hotel TexasWBB will be staying at in KC and 2) what time the send off (with the cheerleaders and band gathered in the lobby) takes place as the team heads to the arena?

Curious. How do you get LHN? I haven’t found a streaming service with them. I only get the LHN games on ESPN+ because I get LHN through Spectrum.

If you have ESPN+ then you can use a Roku and download the ESPN app. That allows you to see every ESPN game on your TV through the streaming device. There are categories for different sports, and when you select ncaa women's college basketball there's a list of games that are either upcoming or currently showing live. That's where you find the LHN games. I'm assuming it may be similar with a Firestick. Hope this helps.

During the radio broadcast of today's men's game against TCU, Craig Way noted that the women's team was in the stands. He also noted that the gym they were supposed to practice in this afternoon is unavailable as the high school is closed today due to the weather. So, Vic is scrambling to find a practice gym.

Go Jayhawks!

Of all the teams in the Big 12, seems like OU and Kansas gave Baylor the most problems. I actually think Kansas could have a better chance at beating Baylor on Saturday even though it was OU who swept Baylor this season.

The UT media guide says that the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU, however ESPN is not showing this. Who is correct?

OU wins. Was surprised to hear Andrea Lloyd calling the game on ESPNU. I only ever hear/see her on LHN, but perhaps she's called other games in the past.

Brenda Van Langen and Holly Warlick are broadcasting the evening session. I was surprised to see Andrea Lloyd myself
